So grateful for everyone who showed up and completed the 108 Sun Salutations with us yesterday!

We had such overwhelming responses that we had to split the participants to two links on two separate devices lol.
It was quite the production. Thankfully the technical glitches were minimal. 🙏🏻

Kudos to you, you and you - yasss, you did it 108 times!!! Amazing!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 It was so awesome to see so many of you from all over the world on the screen!

お会計時の「割り勘」と「別々」を英語で表現

レストランや居酒屋などのお会計時に、料金を割り勘で支払うのか？または各自別々に支払うのか？といった状況は誰でも経験があるかと思います。今日はそのような状況で「割り勘」と「別々」を英語ではどのように表現するのかご紹介しようと思います。

1) Split the bill/check (down the middle)
→「（均等に）割り勘にする」

英語で「割り勘」を表すのには、この表現が最もナチュラルです。教材や辞書によっては“Go dutch”と紹介しているようですが、実際はその表現はほとんど使われません。（少なくともロスでは聞いたことがありません。）また基本的に、“Split the bill/check”だけで均等に割り勘にすることを意味しますが、人によっては自分の分だけを支払うと解釈する場合もあるので、もしそのような誤解を避けたいのであれば、“Split the bill/check”の後に“down the middle”を付け足して表現しましょう。また、クレジットカードの場合は、一般的に特に何も言わなくても、店員さんに渡したカードの枚数分で均等にチャージしてくれますが、「Please split it evenly」と一声かけてあげると間違いないでしょう。
　
✔“Split down the middle”は「真っ二つに割る」を意味する。
　
✔“down the middle”の代わりに“evenly”でもOK。
　
✔“Bill/Check”を“It”と表現することもよくある。
　
＜例文＞
　
Is everyone OK splitting the check?
（みんな、割り勘でオッケー？）
　
I'm OK with splitting it down the middle.
（割り勘でいいですよ〜。）
　
Do you want to spilt the bill evenly?

2) Can we get separate checks, please?

個別に支払いをする場合によく使われるフレーズです。店員さんがお勘定（伝票）を持ってくる前に伝えることが一般的なマナーです。もし別々の支払いが不可能な場合は、現金とクレジットカードを店員さんに渡して、それぞれの分量を指定します。例えば、合計100ドルの会計を3人で支払うとしましょう。「現金で20ドル、このカードに30ドル、残りはこのカードにつけてください」と言う場合は「20 in cash, 30 on this card and the rest on this card.」になります。
　
✔「Can we have separate checks, please?」または「We'd like separate checks, please.」でもOK。
　
✔“Checks”の代わりに“Bill”も使える。
　
＜例文＞
　
Can we have separate checks, please?
（お会計は別々でお願いします。）
　
40 in cash and the rest on this card.
（現金で40ドル、残りはこのカードにつけてください。）

對這次成果超滿意🤩 有時候，反而一個簡簡單單的 #磅蛋糕 才最考基本功！原來製作磅蛋糕，不可以用太凍或完全放至室溫的牛油🧈 溫度不恰當的話，會影響製成品的氣孔粗幼。同時，雞蛋除了要預早在雪櫃拿出來之外，還要慢慢、慢慢倒入蛋糕漿裡面，不然油脂會分離🤓
還需進步的，是蛋糕上面的裂痕🍰 要令表面漂漂亮亮地爆開，可以入焗爐前豎著唧一條牛油！或者選擇焗到中途，在上面直接用刀打直戒一下。
Quite satisfied with this outcome🤩 Sometimes, a plain #PoundCake can actually prove to be the most rigorous challenge of one’s basic baking skills. When making pound cake, butter temperature is key🧈 You can’t use butter straight out of the fridge, nor can you use room temp butter. As for the eggs, you must set them to room temp beforehand, and make sure you drizzle them into the batter bit by bit; otherwise, the fats will separate🤓
What needs to improve, is the the crack on top🍰 Little did I know that the split on the surface is so deliberately done. You can squeeze a vertical line of butter on top before placing the cake in the oven. Or you could use a knife to slit it open midway thru baking! @ Hong Kong

業務スーパーの紙パックスイーツみたいな、牛乳 1リットルをまるごと使った牛乳パックまるごとホルスタイン柄の牛乳プリンを作ってみました。取り出すのに緊張しすぎて、プリンに割れができてしまったし、牛乳パックに深さがあるので、柄をつけるのに苦労しました。
ウシさん柄のプリンが作りたいなら透明カップで柄を確認しながら作ればいいのに。。。とお思いかもしれませんが、そこは妄想グルメ、牛乳パック丸ごと牛柄にしたかったのです！
って今書きながら思ったんだけど、絞り袋に入れて作業すれば、もっと簡単に作れたかも！（実はいちごシロップでモザイクにしたゼリーで一度失敗してます。。。）
*レシピ*
１．粉ゼラチン 25gは水 125gでふやかしておく。
２．ブラックココアパウダー 10gとココアパウダー 10gをお湯 35gで溶かしておく。
３．鍋に加糖練乳 50g、砂糖 100g、牛乳 1リットルを加え、砂糖を煮溶かす。
４．火から下ろし、１を加え溶かす。
５．およそ300mlと900mlに分け、300mlの方に２を入れ混ぜる。
６．氷水にあてながら冷やす。
７．黒のゼリー液から75ml、白のゼリー液から150ml程度 取り分けておく。
８．少しモロっと固まってきたら、氷水から出す。
９．牛乳パックに白と黒のゼリー液を交互に入れる。ゼリー液が固まりすぎてしまったら、７を足して緩くしながら作業する。
１０．冷蔵庫でよく冷やす。翌日に取り出しても色にじみすることはありませんでした。
１１．丸ごと取り出す。できた。

We tried our hand at making milk pudding with a Holstein cow pattern from 1 litre of milk, using the milk carton itself! We were so nervous removing it that the pudding got split, and since the pack has some depth to it, applying the pattern was very difficult.

We know what you're thinking: "it would have made more sense to use a translucent cup to view the pattern as you applied it"... but that's the magic of MosoGourmet: using the milk carton itself to make the pudding!

Although come to think of it, using a pastry bag while working would have made things easier! (we've already messed up once like this, with the mosaic jelly we used for the strawberry syrup...)

Recipe

1. Soak 25g of powder gelatin in 125g of water.
2. Dissolve 10g of black cocoa powder and 10g of regular cocoa powder in 35g of warm water.
3. Add 50g of sweetened condensed milk, 100g of sugar and 1 litre of milk to a pot. Heat until sugar dissolves.
4. Lower the heat, and add the ingredients of step 1 while dissolving them.
5. Separate in approximately 300ml and 900ml, and use the 300ml portion to mix with the ingredients of step 2.
6. Cool off by placing on iced water recipient.
7. Separate about 75ml of the dark jelly liquid and about 150ml of the white jelly liquid.
8. After it's started congealing enough to break up, take it away from the iced water.
9. Alternate pouring white and black jelly into the milk pack. If the jelly has hardened up too much, add some more of the mix from step 7 and soften it up.
10. Cool in fridge. After removing it from the fridge one day after, there was no blotting in the colors.
11. Remove from the pack. It's ready.
