#上湯煎粉果/粿 Fried Fan Gou Cantonese style, dipped into Soup with Chinese Chives.【#富豪金殿 Regal Palace, Regal Hotel, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong】Ex Michelin 1 🌟 in the late 2000's.
I hate to sound like a broken record, but I have written not only here multiple times over the years even before my IG or Blogging days, but also this Unique Dim Sum recipe served elsewhere too! 😜 Here they do serve one of the best versions in Hong Kong 🇭🇰. Historically

•鳳城酒家 (北角) Fung Sing

Are famous. If u want to remember them then please save this post, who knows if Hong Kong or East Berlin gets bombed by cross-fire or Delta 2.0 Covid suddenly kills us all here.. 😢 Plus I don't always re write the comparison shops again except when a few years have re-passed in cycles
There are others that might be better or worse which are outside of this original Repertoire, or I might have forgotten which is always possible 🙆. I am sure I haven't tried all of them, but they would be based on these recipes somehow as it's been selling for at least 60 Years since Guangzhou 廣州 > Hong Kong 香港 days, but somehow skipped thru Macau side 🎉🎉 So don't ask me where else is good coz some do them still, apart from the above, and suddenly if they try to revive an old recipe it pops up out of nowhere, but here is one of my favorites over the past decades 😂😂😎

Swee Choon has been one of my to go to places for supper since my clubbing days. While I am now feeling too old to go drinking till late night, I am still a fan of the dim sum from this 58-year-old dim sum eatery. Hence, I was elated when I first get to know about Swee Choon's frozen dim sum series in January 2021....

Off from work now. You must be very hungry. Let's check out this classic Fried Rice dish. In 1940s-1950s, western cuisine started their important role in Hong Kong food culture. The chefs in Chinese restaurants at that time tried to simulate the tomato sauce and white sauce of Western cuisine in their chinese cooking. Such combination completely showed the cooking talent and creativity of the Hong Kong chefs. It created a huge but also positive impact to our (Hong Kong) eating habit and food culture in the last 70 years. Tai Chi Yin Yang Fried Rice is absolutely one of the signatures! The 2 different sauces formed a Yin Yang Pattern over beautiful golden fried rice. It was a very famous dish served in Wedding banquet to represent 2 couple. However, since the cooking steps were more complicated than normal fried rice. The wedding banquet do not serve this dish anymore. This is the reason I recreate this dish.
Let's make one at home. I am sure you will love it as I do.
Ingredients:
1/4 onion
1 tomato
2 kale
100-120g chicken breast
10 tiger prawn
3 eggs
3-4 bowl of cooked rice
Marination for chicken:
1tsp light soy sauce
a pinch of salt
1tsp cornflour
3tbsp water
a pinch of white pepper powder
Sauce:
(Red sauce):
4 tbsp Ketchup
3 tbsp sugar
1.5tbsp light soy sauce
1.5 tbsp vinegar/lychee vinegar
a pinch of salt
150ml water
some cornflour water
(white sauce):
300ml chicken broth
50-60ml evaporated milk/fresh milk
some cornflour water

Round-up of kawaii, strange and funny gachapon (gashapon) capsule toys from Japan, including naked mole rats, a gyoza-headed man, cute dim sum hamsters and lots more!
Gachapon are a must-buy souvenir from Japan. They're only about 300 yen, and you can find capsule toy machines in all the main city centre areas. Lots of them are small figures and keychains related to anime, but the most interesting ones are the random and bizarre series. New gachapon series are coming out all the time - here's my latest round-up of particularly strange and cute ones!

Today me and my friend Jillian (@JJsays - 雪莲说) went out to get dim sum in Chinatown and she totally shocked the entire restaurant (literally all the waitstaff) with her perfect Mandarin! We got all the classic Guangdong / Hong Kong style dim sum style treats, like shrimp dumplings (har gow), rice noodles, pork buns (cha siu bao), and Jillian's favorite -- chicken feet!!! This is part 2 of our Chinatown series where went around Chinatown and talked with different people in Mandarin, Cantonese, and Fuzhounese. Very funny prank and social experiment!
