美國國務院開始頭大,他們尚在搞清楚從喀布爾辛苦營救出來的阿富汗人裡面究竟有甚麼人,當中多少是真正為美軍賣命的營救目標,多少有SIV簽證申請,多少是乘亂混入的潛在威脅,全都未能答覆《華爾街日報》。然而,一個更嚴峻的新問題卻正在湧現——這些穆斯林男人連同他們童婚娶來的多個妻子都一併都帶來了美國。
她們只是個孩子,他們卻說她們是妻子。
躲避塔利班迫害不等同他們反對原教旨主義,部分幫美軍工作的口譯員同時也是美國人權報告裡面所指的「人口販子」,參與阿富汗的童婚交易。要了解這個問題,需要補充少少背景。在伊斯蘭及猶太教的原教旨裡面,「一夫多妻」被演繹成一種保護落難女性的制度,視嫁娶為女性獲得救贖的唯一方法,可為寡婦或孤女提供社會無法提供的庇護。如果你讀過新約聖經,應該知道「一個女人被娶七次」的悖論——大哥死後二哥有娶嫂的義務,如此類推七兄弟上了天堂後,那麼這個女人到底是誰的妻子呢?
這才是真正意義上的「傳統」婚姻,嚴格來說塔利班或ISIS強搶民女當作洩慾工具,只是借原教旨之名搵食,是假的原教旨。了解這個背景,便發現只有一種人可以免罪,就是為了從塔利班手上救回這些女孩而娶她們過門的伊斯蘭男人。聽起來很扭曲,我們的世俗觀無法接受,這卻是他們唯一可行的世俗辦法。我曾讀到有男人娶殘障女作第三任妻子的故事,他強調有名無實,還跟記者打趣說自己只剩下一個「名額」,這種「例外」的確使人改觀,但我對人類失去信心,那些口譯員和博懵上機的男人真是屬於這一種嗎?
於是,阿聯酋電報美國的這一句便變得可圈可點了:
「Some young Afghan girls had been forced into marriages in order to escape Afghanistan after the Taliban takeover. (有些年輕的阿富汗女孩被強迫結婚,以便在塔利班接管後逃離阿富汗。)」
怎讀也是怪怪,因為它混合了好人好事和壞人壞事——如果這個女孩未嫁,她就會被塔利班取走,所以父母強行將她們嫁給某個有名額的男人,託付將她們帶到美國或阿聯酋出生天——這已算是一個好的版本。壞的版本是,他們可能有份強搶民女,以救贖之名,行可憎的事——有女孩向美國舉報說,自己被這些「掮客丈夫」強姦了。
