Water is Coming to you
“He said, “Yahweh says, ‘Make this valley full of trenches.’ For Yahweh says, ‘You will not see wind, neither will you see rain, yet that valley will be filled with water, and you will drink, both you and your livestock and your other animals. This is an easy thing in Yahweh’s sight. He will also deliver the Moabites into your hand. You shall strike every fortified city, and every choice city, and shall fell every good tree, and stop all springs of water, and mar every good piece of land with stones.’” In the morning, about the time of offering the sacrifice, behold, water came by the way of Edom, and the country was filled with water. Now when all the Moabites heard that the kings had come up to fight against them, they gathered themselves together, all who were able to put on armor, young and old, and stood on the border. They rose up early in the morning, and the sun shone on the water, and the Moabites saw the water opposite them as red as blood. They said, “This is blood. The kings are surely destroyed, and they have struck each other. Now therefore, Moab, to the plunder!” When they came to the camp of Israel, the Israelites rose up and struck the Moabites, so that they fled before them; and they went forward into the land attacking the Moabites.” (2 Kings 3:16-24 WEB)
The Israel army coalition had no water to drink for seven days. They were thirsty and asked the prophet Elisha to inquire of the Lord Yahweh.
The Lord’s instruction was to make the valley full of trenches, in preparation to collect the water.
Yet you may wonder where is the water going to come from if there is no wind or rain?
Sometimes, when the Lord asks you to get into position, just do it without trying to reason it out.
He said to make the valley full of trenches, meaning GET READY TO RECEIVE.
How much water do you want to catch? The more trenches you dig, the more water you will store, if not the water will come, but it will just flow away.
The Lord allows you to choose how much you want to act upon His rhema word. If you have faith, you will make the valley of your life full of trenches, ready to receive from Him.
The water came by the way of Edom. It is not your job to know how the water comes. The point is, the water WILL come because the Lord has commanded it.
The water had a double purpose for the Israel coalition. It satiated their thirst, and it also became an important military tactic used by the Lord to defeat Israel’s enemies.
The water that you collect in the coming days will enable you to defeat enemies in your life.
Everyone’s “trenches” are different—you will know what yours is. Whatever the Lord has put into your heart to do, remember that you can choose how much water you will collect, based on how many trenches you make.
Do not waste time questioning, “How will the water come? How is it possible?” The water is coming so it is time to get in position!

Rewarded in Due Season
“Don’t be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let’s do what is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith.” (Galatians 6:7-10 WEB)
Being saved is not a reward. It is a free gift that anyone can receive immediately once he believes and confesses Jesus Christ as Lord.
However, there are Christians who spend their new life after being saved focused on sowing to the flesh.
“Be diligent to come to me soon, for Demas left me, having loved this present world, and went to Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia. Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for service.” (2 Timothy 4:9-11 WEB)
An example is Demas, who was one of the apostle Paul’s fellow ministry workers. Demas forsook Paul to live a worldly life in Thessalonica—pursuing the temporal pleasures of the world. He could not stand the hardships and persecutions of ministry which are really not easy, and he lost sight of the reward.
We all grow “weary” at times, feeling impatient and disappointed when our doing good goes unappreciated or unrewarded by men. This comes from the prideful flesh which craves instant gratification.
To counter this, we need to be constantly reminded that God will reward us in due season. Not in this mortal lifetime, but when we finally stand before His throne.
When you “reap eternal life”, it means you receive eternal rewards that are incorruptible, and that will last forever. That is true life indeed.
The condition for reaping rewards is that you “don’t give up”. Let’s keep encouraging each other.
Those who sow seeds only reap harvests if they water the wheat all the way to maturity. Likewise, let us not be like Demas who forsook Paul halfway through, but be like Luke who stayed with Paul, even though everyone else already left.
“I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith. From now on, there is stored up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.” (2 Timothy 4:7-8 WEB)
There is a crown of righteousness for those who faithfully serve the Lord without forsaking Him. Let us not be content with just being saved, but to run for the prize that the righteous judge will give to us.
The question is no longer “Am I saved,” but “What will be my reward?” Keep your eyes on Jesus and He will lead you day by day, little by little.
It’s nothing drastic or dramatic. God knows how to guide you at a suitable pace, and before you know it, you have done much more than you ever dreamed possible—all by relying on His grace.
It’s like a dance of grace. Let Him take you by the hand, and you only need to keep in step with Him. Even if you got hurt by thankless men, still persist in doing good. Be refreshed by a warm bath in God’s word, and carry on. You will not lose your rewards!

Forget What is Behind and Press on in 2021!
“Not that I have already obtained, or am already made perfect; but I press on, if it is so that I may take hold of that for which also I was taken hold of by Christ Jesus. Brothers, I don’t regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:12-14 WEB)
2020 has certainly been an eye-opening year to say the least. I’m sure it was full of opportunities for you to learn and grow.
Trials and tribulations made you stronger, allowing you to stretch and deepen your faith in God.
But it’s time to say goodbye to the year, thank God for all the lessons, and shut the door on 2020.
2021 is like a new apartment, with many rooms. Each day is another room with fresh grace prepared in it.
You may be thinking, “2020 was horrible for me. What if 2021 is worse?”
Forget all the bad things that have happened this year, and look forward to the new supply, gifts, anointing, wisdom and special encounters from the Lord.
Earthly parents prepare the things their children need for life. They make breakfast, ensure that the child has clothes to wear, and make arrangements for the child to survive and thrive.
When the child is hungry, all he has to do is say, “Mummy, I’m hungry,” and the food which is prepared will be brought out. When going to school, the child just says, “Daddy, I ran out of pocket money. Can I have more please,” and he receives what he needs.
If we who are imperfect would do that, then our perfect Abba God who is infinitely wealthy and full of love has surely prepared the coming year for us.
““Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened. Or who is there among you, who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” (Matthew 7:7-11 WEB)
Remember to ask for the things you need, and expect to receive. Instead of complaining about lack, ask for the supply from your generous Abba God.
“You lust, and don’t have. You murder and covet, and can’t obtain. You fight and make war. You don’t have, because you don’t ask.” (James 4:2 WEB)
In 2020, if you forgot to ask, or if you saw a limited vision of your life, remember to ask God in 2021, and ask boldly!
The apostle Paul said there is a calling, a goal, and a prize. Keep pressing on, and here’s declaring a blessed 2021 for you, full of restorations for the losses you experienced this year. You’re stepping into a finished work, you shall not lack!

After ripping his team for having no heart,
Allen Iverson showed they still have a pulse.
Iverson played one of his better offensive games of the season
Thursday night, scoring 39 points to lead the struggling
Philadelphia 76ers past the weary and depleted Los Angeles Lakers
96-73.
In a game that stayed competitive for only a few minutes,
Iverson had his way against defender Derek Fisher and repeatedly
freed himself for mid-range jumpers and drives.
Iverson shot 15-for-29 from the field -- missing his final four
shots -- and added six assists in one of the 76ers' most lopsided
victories of the season and the Lakers' largest margin of defeat.
"I tried to make sure I led by example," Iverson said. "I saw
guys were trying to get things done the right way."
The Lakers, playing their fourth road game in five nights and
extra tired after arriving in Philadelphia around 4 a.m., lost Gary
Payton to an ejection in a first quarter in which they scored just
10 points -- matching their season low set earlier this week at
Indiana.
Shaquille O'Neal missed 11 of 13 foul shots in the first half,
finishing 3-for-15 from the line with 17 points.
"We just had dead legs tonight. It was just obvious we didn't
have any zip out there at all," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said.
"This is not a low point. They're not depressed about it. They
just had a bad game. Shaq couldn't make any free throws, they lose
Gary ...
"We're not going into the woods to fight a bear with a switch.
That wasn't going to happen out there tonight."
The Lakers were supposed to be joined by Kobe Bryant, who is on
the injured list with a lacerated finger. But Bryant defied coach
Jackson and did not show up, leaving the team wondering about his
whereabouts until shortly before gametime.
Bryant's agent told the Lakers that Bryant would join them in
Orlando on the fifth stop of their seven-game road trip.
Glenn Robinson added 26 points for the 76ers, who were ripped by
Iverson two nights ago following a loss to Toronto -- their ninth in
11 games.
"We don't play with no heart, we don't take a challenge,"
Iverson said during a 10-minute rant. "Guys don't take pride and
compete."
After shooting off his mouth, it became clear early that Iverson
might be capable of shooting the Sixers out of their slump.
He scored six points over the final 1:05 of the first quarter to
help Philadelphia to a 25-10 lead.
"I hope it didn't take that," Iverson said of his public
outburst. "If it did, I'm happy that it worked. Guys came out and
played hard.
"I haven't seen that energetic flavor from us in a while."
The opening 12 minutes featured the quick ejection of Payton by
referee Joey Crawford for arguing while Iverson shot free throws.
Payton did not comment after the game, nor did O'Neal.
"I'm not going to talk about it. It's too irritating to talk
about it," Jackson said of Payton's ejection.
The Sixers led 44-29 at halftime behind 20 points from Iverson,
and he reached 30 points with 3:35 left in the third quarter by
losing Fisher with a crossover dribble and hitting a 21-footer.
Samuel Dalembert followed with a dunk off a pass from Robinson to
give Philadelphia a 71-44 lead.
Iverson sat down for good with 4:02 remaining and the 76ers
ahead 89-66.

It didn't take long for Theo Ratliff to make
his presence felt for the Philadelphia 76ers.
Sidelined with a stress fracture in his left ankle for the first
six games of the season, Ratliff returned with 17 points, eight
rebounds and a key blocked shot as the 76ers held off the
Toronto Raptors, 93-90.
"I wanted to get to a point where I was healthy enough to make a
contribution," Ratliff said. "Tonight I felt great. Everything
is going well. I enjoyed being out there.
"Theo was a presence the whole game," 76ers coach Larry Brown
said.
The 6-10 forward started at center and triggered a 12-2 burst in
the fourth quarter that was fueled by Allen Iverson, who scored
eight of his 30 points in the pivotal stretch. Iverson has
scored at least 30 points in four consecutive games, with the
Sixers (3-4) winning three.
"Theo back gave us confidence, especially being on the road,"
Iverson said. "We feel with Theo, we can't be beat at home or on
the road."
Toronto's Vince Carter scored a season-high 27 points but had a
layup blocked by Ratliff and missed a potential tying 3-pointer
in the final seconds. The cold-shooting Raptors trailed by 19
points in the third quarter and had a four-game winning streak
snapped.
"It was a fight from start to finish and they won," Carter said.
"We were missing shots early and they were getting fast breaks
and making their layups and jump shots. We still fought hard to
come back. But we ran out of gas at the end. We just have to
bounce back."
Losers of its first four road games, Philadelphia took a 75-66
lead into the fourth quarter but had six turnovers in the first
four minutes of the period. A jumper by Carter completed a 9-1
surge and pulled the Raptors within 76-75 with 8:08 to go.
Ratliff took an alley-oop pass from Iverson and dunked to start
the decisive run. Iverson and Toronto's Dell Curry traded
baskets before Philadelphia's Eric Snow scored with 6:46 left.
Iverson made a four-point play and a fast-break layup to widen
the lead to 88-77 with 5:48 remaining.
"I thought we played great, except for seven or eight minutes,"
Brown said. "We took bad shots and had turnovers. We knew
Toronto was going to make a run at us and we got upset. But we
made some big shots."
Two 3-pointers by Curry, who scored 13 points, helped Toronto
peck away at the deficit. Ratliff's layup with 1:26 left gave
Philadelphia a 92-87 lead and Carter answered with a pair of
free throws.
Carter and Snow traded a free throw apiece before Carter had his
drive blocked by Ratliff, who was third in the league in blocks
last season. Snow lost the deflection out of bounds with 7.5
seconds left but Carter and Alvin Williams missed 3-pointers
before the horn sounded.
"We knew they'd try to get a quick basket and I was patrolling
the lane," Ratliff said.
"Theo is a very good player when he's healthy," Raptors coach
Butch Carter said. "He gives them a presence in the middle that
they haven't had."
George Lynch scored 12 points and Snow added eight, 11 assists
and seven rebounds for the Sixers, who shot 44 percent
(37-of-84) from the field. Iverson made 4-of-5 3-pointers and
added seven rebounds and six assists.
Doug Christie scored 19 points for the Raptors, who shot just 37
percent (29-of-78), negating a 27-14 edge in made foul shots.
Iverson scored 12 points and Ratliff and Lynch 10 apiece as the
Sixers grabbed a 55-45 halftime lead. Iverson framed a 9-0 run
to open the third quarter with a 3-pointer and jumper, pushing
Philadelphia's lead to 64-45 with 8:25 remaining.
"We played solid defense," Iverson said. "It was important to
get an early lead. It gave us confidence."
"They got the lead early and it gave them confidence," said
Raptors forward Charles Oakley, who was held scoreless. "Being
down by 19 is a lot at home. We just didn't get the job done. We
really haven't done anything yet. We have a good team but we
have to be consistent if we want to be an elite team in this
league."
Consecutive baskets by Christie closed the period and capped a
9-2 burst that cut Toronto's deficit to nine points.

The 76ers might want to go into halftime behind if they want to turn their season around.
Playing with a big lead has only led to big losses -- and has coach Eddie Jordan's job on the rocks. Chris Bosh and the Raptors were only the latest team to rally from a double-digit deficit and beat Philadelphia.
Bosh made the go-ahead three-point play with 8.4 seconds left and had 29 points and nine rebounds to lead Toronto to a 108-106 victory over the 76ers on Friday night.
Andrea Bargnani scored 23 points to help the Raptors rally from a 13-point hole and win their third straight.
The Sixers have led by 10-plus points in each of their last three losses and are 7-8 this season when they hold a double-digit lead at any point.
The 76ers wasted an 18-point lead in a loss to Gilbert Arenas and the Wizards on Tuesday. They watched an 11-point halftime lead evaporate against the Raptors in the third quarter.
"We're jumping out and holding leads and we just can't hold them," guard Allen Iverson said. "We play well for a while and then it seems we just lose focus."
Bosh was fouled by Sixers center Samuel Dalembert on a drive to the basket and made the twisting, off-balance layup. He sank the free throw for a 108-106 lead.
Lou Williams' last-chance 3-pointer was off the mark, dropping the Sixers to 4-12 at home.
"We fight to the end, but for whatever reason, it never happens," Williams said.
Before the game, Sixers team president Ed Stefanski refused to say Jordan's job was safe for the rest of the season with the team off to a 10-25 start.
Andre Iguodala fell just shy of a triple-double with 17 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists. Thaddeus Young had 18 points and 13 rebounds, Williams scored 23 points and Iverson had a season-high 22. Sixers forward Elton Brand missed the game with a stomach virus.
Young's driving layup late in the fourth rolled off the front of the rim, but a charging Dalembert was there for the dunk that gave the Sixers a 106-105 lead.
Bosh finished off the Sixers from the inside after the Raptors rallied from the outside.
"Sam is a good defender," Bosh said of the winner. "I just had to size him up and see what he was going to do."
The Raptors, who have made a 3-pointer in 897 straight games, hit their first ones of the game in the third on back-to-back 3s from Jarrett Jack and Bargnani that sliced the deficit under 10.
Marco Belinelli capped an 11-3 run with his first 3 of the game that tied it at 83.
Jrue Holiday's baseline jumper helped send the Sixers into the fourth with a small lead.
It didn't last long.
The only surprise was how long it took the Raptors to start making 3s after an 0-for-5 first half. The Sixers are last in the NBA in 3-point defense, allowing teams to shoot a whopping 42 percent against them.
The Raptors finished 5 for 15 from long range -- but each one in the second half did in the Sixers.
It's losses like this one that have Stefanski refusing to endorse Jordan. But Stefanski held the entire organization accountable for a slide that has left the Sixers with the second-worst record in the Eastern Conference.
"It's not just the head coach," Stefanski said before tip-off. "It's the coaches, the players and myself. No one is happy here."
Stefanski, who has yet to turn the Sixers into contenders in 2-plus seasons as president and general manager, took some of the blame for the woeful start.
"If you're looking at the record, I haven't done a real good job so far," he said.
Jordan might be running out of time to get the Sixers turned around.
"We're not getting the job done and we're going to have to get it done," Stefanski said.
