God Reserves These Treasures for the Ones He is Pleased With
“There is nothing better for a man than that he should eat and drink, and make his soul enjoy good in his labor. This also I saw, that it is from the hand of God. For who can eat, or who can have enjoyment, more than I? For to the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy; but to the sinner he gives travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him who pleases God. This also is vanity and a chasing after wind.” (Ecclesiastes 2:24-26 WEB)
All fleshly plotting, striving and toiling is vanity. Worldly wealth never satisfies one’s soul and at the end of this mortal lifetime, it is blown away like sand in the wind.
By today’s standards, King Solomon‘s net worth was more than $2 trillion.
God allowed him to have as much access to the pleasures and luxuries of this world so that he could write the Book of Ecclesiastes and prove this point: spending your life chasing worldly pleasures is a vain pursuit that never satisfies.
If Jesus is your Lord, God is pleased with you and will transfer the wealth that sinners (unbelievers) gather up into your hand. You don’t have to focus on it.
We need provision to survive, but it’s not something that you need to toil for. God will use His connections to direct provision to you, just like He brought the silver coin to Peter in the fish’s mouth.
Some are so afraid of losing money, and others are so greedy and focused on hoarding more of it. The love of money is idolatry and is a root of all kinds of evil. Fleshly longings to get rich pierces a soul with many sorrows.
God says that His wisdom, knowledge and joy are far more precious treasures, reserved for His children. Sinners cannot comprehend nor appreciate these.
To a sinner, these are useless because it cannot be perceived or verified by sight, and have to be partaken by faith.
God has given you the ability to eat and drink, to enjoy the fruit of your labor. Let your soul be satisfied in that. Ask Him to add more godly wisdom, knowledge and joy to you. He is especially pleased when you prioritize what He prioritizes!

the sinner season 2 在 [心得] The Sinner S2 (雷) - 看板EAseries - 批踢踢實業坊 的推薦與評價
老實說，跳脫原本範疇的第二季或許更勝一籌。雖然在演員的顏值上是下降了一些些，但
是有表現令人十分驚豔的Elisha Henig，他將那個從小生長於與外界隔絕團體之中，還受
到養母心理控制，在接觸到外界還有關於自己許多的真相後，受到巨大衝擊導致數度面臨
情緒崩潰，但卻也早熟並且逐漸認清自己定位的小大人Julian，表現得十分到位。
當然，本季另一個主題是與所謂的新興宗教／理念團體有關。
只是，貫穿全劇，在案發時是由Vera所帶領的團體Mosswood或許不能就那麼斷言就是個
『邪教』團體。
因為一種信念或許真能幫助一些陷入困境的人找到方向，只是若是主事者帶有甚麼異樣的
心態或是意圖才會是最大的問題。 這就是在劇中Vera自己所得要面對的難題。
確實，這個團體的創立者Lionel的方法有幫助到Vera，因此Vera開始確實堅信Lionel的理
念，並且尊他為人生導師，只是她越是深入了解，就發現了越多Lionel的邪念。
或許是因為在半推半就下收養Julian後，讓她的母性全面爆發?
總之，在Marin加入Mosswood、在她誕下Julian後，因為各種巧合下讓她看清了導師Lionel
絕非善類。因此Vera為了保護養子Julian、為了保護其他的會眾，她最終做出了自己的決
定，並且成為Mosswood的接班人。
巧的是，她處理掉Lionel的方式，居然和一開始Julian在不知真相的情況下，以為自己被
誘拐而毒殺受Marin之請，將他帶(救)出Mosswood的Bess及其男友是如此的相似。
老實說，Vera確實有自己的長才，她確實算是個出色的治療師，雖然似乎也像Lionel那般
，將自己的技能用在一些錯誤的方向，不過或許只有她能幫助年過半百，但仍走不出被自
己患有躁鬱症的母親從小虐待，最後為求解脫，縱火燒了自己家的主角－Ambrose。
這一季深入了先前幫助Cora找尋到遺忘的過去傷痛的Ambrose自己的內心陰影成因。
原來他之所以能了解Cora或是Julian的可能苦衷，真是因為他也是個過來人。
不過縱火等罪惡感的陰霾，也讓他有了自虐等等補償行為。
但這身為過來人的經歷，也讓他成為最能給予Julian建言的人，可以說他是靠著坦然的據
實以告，讓深信得對於一切誠實面對的Julian意外的相信他。
因為Ambrose或許是Julian所接觸過的人之中，最是誠實的人。
而這一季另一個重點或許就是生母與養母的戰爭－aka Julian噩夢的原因。
而非常湊巧的，居然與本季與Ambrose搭檔的女警Heather，也是Ambrose好友的女兒有關。
原來Heather與Julian的生母Marin是死黨兼情人，這些年來Heather都認為是自己，而讓
好友加入了家鄉附近的「邪教」Mosswood。
當她發現Julian很有可能就是摯友Marin的兒子，而Marin又已失蹤多年後，就讓她更是拿
捏不定自己在調查中的角色。
而突然發現自己的生母原來另有其人，一直以來以為是母親的人，卻對他扯了那麼多謊言
，讓Julian是更加崩潰，更不知該如何面對。
另一方面，調查的過程也讓Heather發現或許Mosswood與鎮上的關係，並沒有大家想像的那
樣壁壘分明，鎮上許多人，不少有頭有臉的人，似乎都與Mosswood有程度不一的牽連。
但最是令她訝異的是，原來一切居然都跟自己的父親有關，因為Julian是Marin遭到父親
侵犯後所生下的孩子，也就是自己同父異母的弟弟。
以為已經喪命的摯友居然沒死，只是因又一次幻滅離開Mosswood，但因思念兒子而返鄉。
只是最後因為與Heather的父親Jack就Julian是否該跟她前往加拿大之事，才在衝突中，因
為自己的手槍走火而過世。
總之，這是一個看著主要角色都得在許多與認知衝突的矛盾中，設法釐清、找到方向，
並且試著走出困擾自己多年陰霾的一季。
雖然有些部分感覺似乎有點差的一點甚麼，但看著這些解開謎團、找到真相的過程發展，
真的完全不輸，甚至有部分還強過第一季。
縱使真的缺乏俊男美女，但仍值得去觀看、品味才是。
只是...不太確定usa台這回有無授權給Netflix
(因為在美國，第二季全季目前只有在usa自己的平台上可供觀看，NF僅有第一季)
