2 tubes Egg Tofu
oil for deep-frying
50g sliced carrots
50g sliced canned button mushrooms
150g minced pork marinate with:
1 tsp sesame oil
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
1 tsp light soy sauce
1 tsp cornstarch

Sauce:
2 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp chili bean paste
1 tbsp light soy sauce
1 tbsp hua tiao wine (optional)
½ cup water
3 tbsp oil
30g chopped ginger
20g chopped garlic
10 medium size prawns (shelled)
1 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
½ tsp pepper
1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
2 eggs
chopped spring onions for garnish

Relatively rarer to eat in Hong Kong, with barely around 3 shops serving one irregularly. Even at this NEW 🆕 shop, we actually came back to book the 2nd time to ensure a batch. So please call up【Chou Chou 兆鳥, Tsim Sha Tsui, HK】to know what they have on Special, which is still operating like a Soft opening.

The #きんかん part was super fresh this batch, the overall skewer seasoned/cooked surprisingly well. Apparently one of the lady owners studied & worked quite a few years in Japan 🇯🇵. A Yakitori opening which surprised on the upside, using mostly Japanese Kagoshima satsuma chicken, but fresher parts necessarily for daily butchering sourced in HK locally.. ❤️😋🐔

Olive Vegetable Tau Sar with Salted Egg Yolk, anyone? 🙋‍♀️ this is one of the new flavors for the Traditional Baked Mooncakes by @thyemohchan who pays homage to Teochew Opera
through its exquisitely designed red mooncake boxes.

presents four traditional Teochew mooncakes, three Momoyama mooncakes, as well as two tubes of quality loose-leaf teas.

🥮 Olive Vegetable Tau Sar with Salted Egg Yolk 橄榄菜豆沙蛋黄 ($12.80/ piece; $46.80/ box of 4( would taste strange but it actually turned out very yummy. It’s still overall a sweet mooncake with the olive vegetables being added to the sweet mung bean paste.
