KENYATAAN MEDIA: TOTAL LOCKDOWN FASA PERTAMA
1. Setakat laporan oleh Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia pada hari ini, terdapat 8,290 kes positif baru di Malaysia. Disebabkan kenaikan yang membimbangkan ini, Pejabat Perdana Menteri telah mengumumkan ‘total lockdown’ Fasa Pertama di seluruh negara bagi tempoh 14 hari bermula 1 Jun 2021 hingga 14 Jun 2021. Ini secara langsung akan memberikan kesan aktiviti dan perkhidmatan kepada sektor ekonomi dan sosial selama 14 hari bermula dari 1 Jun. Pengecualian hanya diberikan kepada sektor ekonomi dan perkhidmatan penting sahaja.
2. Peningkatan kes baru disebabkan oleh varian agresif Covid-19 yang baru adalah antara faktor yang memburukkan lagi gejala kepada pesakit dan menyebabkan mereka dimasukkan ke Unit Rawatan Rapi (ICU).
3. Ini adalah situasi genting di seluruh negara dan saya berharap kita semua dapat memainkan peranan masing-masing bagi memerangi wabak ini dan mematuhi perintah yang dikeluarkan oleh kerajaan. Jalankan tanggungjawab kita dengan duduk di rumah bagi memutuskan rantaian jangkitan disebabkan kes penularan sporadik. Ini adalah tanggungjawab bersama kita sebagai rakyat Malaysia bagi menjaga keluarga, masyarakat dan negara kita

MALAYSIA’S PHASE 1 OF TOTAL LOCKDOWN
1. As of today, it was reported that we have 8,290 new active positive covid cases in Malaysia. Due to this alarming rise, the Prime Minister’s Office made an announcement of total nationwide lockdown, similar to MCO 1.0 in March last year which will come into effect from June 1 to June 14th. This will directly put to halt the services and activities of both the economy and social sector for 14 days beginning from 1st June itself. Under the total lockdown, only the essential economic and service sectors are allowed to operate.
2. With more people getting infected by the new Covid-19’s aggressive variants are among the factors that has worsen symptoms of patients and causing them to be admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
3. This is a nationwide emergency and I hope that everyone will play their part to fight this pandemic and abide with the orders issued by the government. Do our part by staying at home and break the chain of infection because most of the infections are sporadic cases of transmission within the local community. This is our collective responsibility as citizens who care for our families, our communities and our country.
