If you all know my IG and my blog, you'll see me sharing plenty of curated work. But I always like to keep things rooted and as close to reality as possible. Because I feel that social media can be a toxic if not being used correctly, at current moment it's gone to the stage where people are willing to pay to get followers on their social media accounts, just so the numbers look good to 99% of people whom they've not met in life (how and why do this people matter anyway?), just to competitively feel obligated to have those numbers, because they see influencers having such glam life and they want to be like them. Well, unless it is adding some sort of value to your life, please keep in mind that influencers curate contents and half the time they are done not in conventional ways. You see a beautiful flatlay of food on the table with nice table cloths and props but in real life (and real indulgence) nobody does that ok.
I find it relatable and relevant to share more BTS so viewers get as much of the realistic situation as possible. So while I'm sharing what's possibly a recommended indulgence, bear in mind that I'm curating content as well.
This is Mar, and she writes about luxury hotels and resorts. And #YTLHotels group are obviously on the list when it comes to luxury so here we are at The Majestic Malacca as part of the #YTLNomad influencer program, where the a group of us spent close to a week and hop on from one YTL Hotels to another. Starting from this one in Melaka , before we move on to the one in KL. Here's us getting our photos before we then eat the COLD food.
The kitchen crew were all nice to offer more food cause these are cold, but we obviously reject it to avoid wastage. I mean, look at the amount of food here!
Remember this, recognising your privilege on social media (influencer or not influencer) and sending the right message out is equally as important as curating the most perfect post (that could possibly be misleading to your followers).
