Unity, for me, is like a rich tapestry, and each thread of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their colour. In the same logic, unity is essential to living a harmonious life, especially for a country with diversity in Malaysia.

I was so touched by the kind side shown by the Malaysian during times of crisis; people step up and rally around to support and show kindness to those in need. Even though we all come from different backgrounds, we accept, love and stand together. Unity is the glue we need to sustain peace in our nation and the world.

I was asked about the inspiration of this rather sorrowful story. In the face of global health threat, we could still see conflicts taking place that leads to conflict that kills many innocent life. Perhaps I am in no position to comment on anything. But to think about it, isn't it that every clashes that happened in the course of human history stem from our unique but humane differences? Whether it is our worldview, religious belief, or political inclination. And what bonded us together is our ability experience emotions - we grieve the same grief; we laugh the same laugh. Well, perhaps on the death bed, none of these differences would really matter...

For years, whenever people asked about my dream, I would say to publish my own book. But I disregarded my dream as that: just a dream. Even during my high-stress job, I would randomly read books about blogging.

My journey of finding purpose was less about “finding” and more about remembering what I already knew but forgotten.

Your “thread” is something you can’t not follow. No matter how far you stray away from it, you keep coming back.

It spills out of you, the way feathers grow out from a bird or leaves from a free, one way or the other. You can’t help it. Because it’s part of who you are. 🙌
