Sanctified by Faith in Jesus
““Whereupon as I traveled to Damascus with the authority and commission from the chief priests, at noon, O king, I saw on the way a light from the sky, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who traveled with me. When we had all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’ “I said, ‘Who are you, Lord?’ “He said, ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. But arise, and stand on your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose: to appoint you a servant and a witness both of the things which you have seen, and of the things which I will reveal to you; delivering you from the people, and from the Gentiles, to whom I send you, to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’” (Acts 26:12-18 WEB)
It is rare and precious to read the words spoken from the glorified Jesus’ mouth.
I want to draw your attention to His last words to Saul, “those who are sanctified by faith in Me.”
The word for sanctify in the Greek is “hagiazó” which means to make holy, or set apart as something special.
By faith in Jesus, you have been separated from the darkness of the world and from Satan’s power. You have been transferred into the Kingdom of light and brought near to God.
You are now very precious to God—sanctified. A sanctified person is called a “saint”. Did you know you are a saint?
Also, notice how Jesus spoke so tenderly and yet authoritatively to Saul. Saul had just arrested so many believers, persecuting the body of Christ, and yet Jesus was concerned about how Saul would only be harming himself by persecuting the church.
Power, love, and majesty fully realized in one person. Our Lord Jesus is so worthy of our worship and praise.
Finally, if there is any doubt that Jesus spoke Hebrew to His disciples, the passage clearly says that Jesus spoke to Saul “in the Hebrew language”.

The Resignation of Azman Mokhtar and the Khazanah Board
The viral images of the sendoff Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar received from his colleagues yesterday were telling. It shows a leader who is much respected and appreciated. It certainly did not show someone leaving in ignominious circumstances.
From what I know, Azman was not even given an appointment to brief the new Prime Minister since the last general election. For more than two months, the managing director of our nation’s sovereign wealth fund was denied the opportunity to even meet and brief the Prime Minister.
This also resulted in the Khazanah board not being able to convene its meetings.
The message was simple: We want you out but we are not going to get our hands dirty since there are no real grounds for your dismissal.
The Khazanah board understood the message. And being the responsible individuals they are, they offered their resignations en bloc.
A new board was then appointed and subsequently announced by the Prime Minister’s Office. This in itself is odd. Khazanah is almost entirely owned by the Ministry of Finance Inc. Any board appointments must be signed off and announced by the Minister of Finance, not the Prime Minister. But this was not done, even though the Pakatan Harapan government has promised not to concentrate too much power in the Prime Minister’s Office.
At the same time, the government’s PR strategy has been to focus on the few losses during Azman’s tenure from the investment in UBS to a company selling lingerie on-line. This is designed to embarrass and deflect from the real numbers that we should be concerned with: Khazanah’s realisable asset value grew from RM 65bn in 2004 to RM157bn at the end of 2017. Its net worth adjusted (which takes out liabilities and dividends paid to the Government) was RM47bn in 2004. At the end of last year it was RM115.6bn. That is Azman’s legacy. Not the smaller losses that have been highlighted to smear his tenure and reputation.
Another one of Azman’s legacy is succession planning. A leader is only as good as the success of his successor. In December last year, Azman appointed two deputies, one of whom will most likely succeed him in May when his contract expires. I hope the two deputy MDs will be among those considered to take over to ensure continuity in executing Khazanah’s mandate as the nation’s sovereign wealth fund.
As I have mentioned previously, Khazanah is now a success story which began with Azman’s appointment in 2004. We must guard against any attempts to break it up and replace it with the crony capitalism of 1990s Malaysia Inc.
Khazanah has gone from being a mere holding entity to a strategic investor looking at opportunities that can realise greater returns and also promote Malaysia’s economy and corporations. They have built a human resource pool of talented managers and executives.
The Opposition will be monitoring the Government’s next moves very closely.

超市Tesco的英式幽默
#英式幽默
話說英國有人從超市Tesco買生菜,回家發現有菜蟲一條,於是在Tesco的Facebook專頁上載蟲仔相片,再打了這段玩野留言:
Hi, I bought a lettuce today from you and I found this little guy inside and I was chopping it up to make a salad, I decided to name him Jeffrey. For all whom is concerned Jeffrey is alive and well and he's happily munching on some flowers as we speak. (but don't mention it to my dad it's our little secret) But anywho I decided to share this for awareness so Jeffrey's friends and family remain safe as this little guy, so they can grow into beautiful butterflies and live a long and fulfilling life.
Tesco顧客服務部的回應可算是epic:
Thank you for getting in touch with us today. I'm delighted to know that Jeffrey has been found safe and sound. We've all been quite worried about him. I'm relieved to know that you could read the name on his badge, as we had to have one specifically designed to fit a caterpillar.
See, Jeffrey is a Tesco employee, and we'd originally hired him to manage the Fruit & Veg department. I think he may have become a little too invested in the job, as we started to notice that the amount of Iceberg Lettuce we were selling didn't really add up to how many we'd ordered into the store.
Nevertheless, we couldn't prove that Jeffrey was the culprit responsible for the missing lettuce, so we kept him on, until one day... Jeffrey went missing.
We looked everywhere, magnifying glasses at hand. We had his wife on the phone to us, but I'm afraid I couldn't understand what she was saying as she's a caterpillar. I imagine she was quite upset, though. We assisted the local authorities with their investigations, but alas, Jeffrey was nowhere to be seen.
Little did we know that Jeffrey was onto us, and instead of taking the lettuce home with him, he decided to hitch a ride on one, and here he is now, safely hidden in your lettuce.
In true Tesco fashion, allow me to celebrate this occasion with a poem:
There was once a caterpillar named Jeff,
Who applied to work for a store,
He sent a CV in to Tesco Extra,
And soon heard a knock at the door.
He opened the door,
And to Jeff's surprise,
Stood a Tesco van driver,
With a van full of pies.
"Come along, mate, let's go on a ride, to the Tesco Extra where you'll now reside!"
So off Jeff went,
To the Tesco Extra store,
To be the Fruit & Veg manager,
On the Fruit & Veg floor.
Many months passed,
In the Fruit & Veg department,
But all we could wonder was where all the lettuce went,
Suspicions arose,
But nobody could prove,
That Jeff was the Emperor
Of the Lettuce's new groove.
Then one fateful day,
Poor Jeffrey was gone,
He wasn't in the Brocolli,
Nor kidnapped by a swan.
We spent many nights,
Trying to find our small friend,
We feared for the worst,
Jeff had met with his end.
But then one day,
On a Facebook wall post,
We'd learnt Jeff was alive,
And not a caterpillar ghost!
Jeff is safe and alive,
On a green salad leaf,
Thank you, Abigail, for ending our caterpillar grief.
Now that the traditional Tesco poem has ended, please send me a quick private message with your full name, address, email, store purchased from and price paid, and we'll look to get your lettuce refunded. We'll also send a chauffeur to pick Jeff up. :)
Kind regards,
