Personally find Instagram is not really that good for promotions similar to Snapchat as its too self-contained system to help with SEO, plus too many people adding and removing you, using that strategy to get you to follow them, makes the follower count fluctuate like crazy.
Twitter even with its quite limited text, but able to post links actually helps SEO same goes for Facebook. Also using short permalinks is much better then permalinks with long titles in it as it eats up too many characters to post on Twitter. Twitter actually pushed up SEO getting me allot of first-page search result with certain words like Smooth Transitions.
Facebook and Youtube gets more active followers, however its not always that good with allot of people messaging me on my company FB page with allot of simple questions that they really could have just googled and find the answer too, so I had to shut down the messenger part of my FB page, as too many questions coming in. I am mainly here to provide info that I want, but not to serve as a helpdesk for everything.
Interestingly Uploading videos native to all platforms you get more hits than all linking to the same video on Youtube. With Facebook it's better to edit a separate short trailer to get people to watch your full video on Youtube, a video is also better than putting a gif in your post.
Another thing is being consistent but with fresh content and not spam the same message over and over. As I can tell with not uploading much in a week to work on few projects, the speed of increase have noticeably declined by about 25%. So actually being consistent with interesting information is a big deal. But currently working on few things and need to finish them so I can get back to making more Youtube videos. But end of november will be at 20.000 subs and hopefully end of the year at 25.000 subs and do hope at some point it start to double its speeds and enable to hit 100.000 subs in 2017 to get a Youtube Silver account and get my account verified.
