Ich bin Herbert Hanreich, war mehr als 10 Jahre lang Professor für Philosophie in Deutschland (Univ. Heidelberg) und in Prag. Die letzten 16 Jahre war ich in Professor am Applied English Department in Taiwan (I-Shou University, Kaohsiung); dort habe ich bis Sommer 2019 vorwiegend englisch, aber auch Kultur und Geschichte unterrichtet. Ich bin Österreicher und seit diesem Sommer in Wien.
Am liebsten unterrichte ich richtiges Schreiben, führe aber auch gerne interessante Konversationen. In Taiwan habe ich vor meiner Anstellung als Professor 2 Jahre lang Kinder (zw. 3-16) Englisch unterrichtet – im Kindergarten und als persönlicher Tutor.

I am Herbert Hanreich. I was professor of philosophy at universities in Heidelberg and Prague for more than 10 years. From 2003 until 2019 I was professor at the Applied English Department of I-Shou University, Kaohsiung, teaching there mainy English writing and speaking, but also cultural and historical subjects. Prior to my engagement as professor I also taught children in Kindergartens and held individual tutorials for 2 years.

China: Mr. Vice President, I’m asking for the floor to raise a point of order. If Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is a part of the People’s Republic of China, just now this delegate of the so-called NGO in her speech mentioned Hong Kong side by side with China, this is affront to the principle one China and the principle of the UN Charter. I like to ask you Mr. President to ask her to use standardized UN formulation when referring to places.
UNHRC Vice President: I remind speakers… uh… to adhere to the well-established principles of the United Nations including the principles of the United Nations Charter and I give the floor back to the speaker.
Denise Ho: Dozens were arrested; four people committed suicide as an ultimate cry of despair. This anger of Hong Kong has followed years of deceitful promises. Since the handover, we saw our autonomy slowly eroded – disqualification of six lawmakers, kidnappings of booksellers and activists jailed – are proof of China’s tightening grip. Real universal suffrage is still non-existent with the Chief Executive Officer appointed and controlled by Beijing. China is preventing our democracy at all costs. Mr. President, the Sino-British Joint Declaration is a binding treaty registered with the UN. Yet after only 22 years, China is denying its obligations. The one-country two-systems is nearing its death. Protests are still ongoing…
