Are you Counted Worthy?
“Therefore be watchful all the time, praying that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.”” (Luke 21:36 WEB)
The verse above is not written to us, but it is for the people who will miss the Rapture and come to believe in Jesus as Lord after that.
During the Tribulation, they will have to endure hardship and persecution without succumbing to the temptation and ease of receiving the Mark of the Beast.
They will have to pray to be counted worthy to escape the worst of the things that will happen because of the Antichrist’s regime, and to finally stand before Jesus after His Second Coming at the end of the 7-year Tribulation.
Read the whole chapter of Luke 21. The context is clearly talking about the end times, Tribulation, and finally Jesus’ Second Coming. Knowing the context of a passage is so important so that no verses get misinterpreted out of context.
Wrongly applying a verse to believers in our current church age will instill fear in believers making them feel unsure about their salvation, always wondering whether they are praying frequently or fervently enough to be “counted worthy” to escape all these things and to stand before the Son of Man (Jesus).
It is very straightforward and measurable during the Tribulation:
1. Do you believe in Jesus as Lord?
2. Did you receive the Mark of the Beast?
If the person’s answer is “Yes” to question 1 and “No” to question 2, then they are counted worthy and will be saved when Jesus returns at the end of the 7 years.
If you are wondering if God counts you worthy now or not, read this verse:
““Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word, and believes him who sent me, has eternal life, and doesn’t come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.” (John 5:24 WEB)
Once a person believes in Jesus as Lord, he HAS eternal life now, and he HAS passed out of death into life. This assurance of salvation is yours to enjoy.
“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished.” He bowed his head, and gave up his spirit.” (John 19:30 WEB)
Your worthiness is not based on your obedience. It is based on the truth that Jesus took the punishment for all your sins, and He declared “It is finished” only when God’s wrath against every sin was fully appeased.
In fact, God was so satisfied with what Jesus did, that He raised Jesus from the dead and gave Him all authority in Heaven and on earth:
“Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” (Matthew 28:18-20 WEB)
You are worthy to the Lord. He has sent you in His name and power to preach the Gospel and make more Spirit-filled disciples. Thanks to Jesus, you are worthy!

Vegetable Idioms 1—Cucumbers
夏天消暑吃小黃瓜就對了!美國生活用語:蔬菜之小黃瓜篇🥒
1⃣ cool as a cucumber
2⃣ pickle, pickled
--
Everybody knows that eating vegetables is good for your health. But did you know that learning vegetable idioms is good for your English? Yes, it’s true. It must be all those vitamins and minerals.
每個人都知道吃蔬菜有益健康,不過你知道嗎?學習蔬菜諺語也有益提升英語程度!沒錯,這是真的!一定是因為它們富含維他命跟礦物質的緣故。
Cucumbers are one of the most refreshing vegetables. They’re 95% water, so they can help keep you cool and hydrated on a hot summer day. But what does it mean if you say a person is 1⃣ “cool as a cucumber”? It means they are calm and relaxed, even when faced with a stressful situation. Ex: Michael was cool as a cucumber during his job interview.
Michael was cool as a cucumber during his job interview. (麥可在工作面試上依然冷靜。)
What happens when you preserve a cucumber in brine or vinegar? It becomes a pickle. In addition to being a tasty snack, a 2⃣ pickle can also be a plight or predicament. Ex: You’ve really gotten yourself in a pickle this time, haven’t you? Pickle can also be a verb, and “pickled,” aside from meaning “preserved in brine or vinegar,” can also mean “drunk.” Did the boss get pickled at the office party again?
如果你把小黃瓜保存在鹽水或醋裡頭會變怎樣?小黃瓜就會變成醃黃瓜。除了可以拿來當零嘴吃,pickle也可以指「窘境,尷尬的情況」,如:You’ve really gotten yourself in a pickle this time, haven’t you?(是你讓你自己深陷窘境之中,不是嗎?)pickle也可以當動詞,所以pickled除了原本指「用鹽水或醋醃的」,也可以說「喝得醉醺醺的」,如:Did the boss get pickled at the office party again?(老闆又在辦公室派對上喝醉了嗎?)

Feed and Pick up Blessings!
“At meal time Boaz said to her, “Come here, and eat some bread, and dip your morsel in the vinegar.” She sat beside the reapers, and they passed her parched grain, and she ate, and was satisfied, and left some of it. When she had risen up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men, saying, “Let her glean even among the sheaves, and don’t reproach her. Also pull out some for her from the bundles, and leave it. Let her glean, and don’t rebuke her.”” (Ruth 2:14-16 WEB)
In the Book of Ruth, Boaz, Ruth’s kinsman redeemer, is a picture of our Lord Jesus Christ who redeemed us from slavery to sin. Ruth is a picture of us (the church)—the bride of Christ.
In the passage above, we see Ruth being invited to sit with Boaz and to eat bread together—a picture of close fellowship and feeding on God’s word.
After she ate until she was satisfied, only then did she get up to work. Dear brethren, we must get the order right—feed on God’s word together with Jesus first, before meeting life’s demands out of the revelation and strength we receive from the Word.
Boaz asked his reapers to pull out some sheaves of grain for Ruth. The reapers are a picture of God’s angels who are sent to minister to us.
Good news—we have blessings in our path which are easy to pick up. Instead of strenuous labor, Jesus makes it restful for us—we enjoy maximum blessings with minimal work, and this is the favor of God upon us who are righteous in Christ.
Yesterday I picked up a lovely surprise in my path when a dear reader and patron suddenly sowed a big love gift into our ministry via our Ko-Fi page.
May God multiply his seed in abundance back to him!
I felt so loved by Jesus and that He will surely provide for me, even in the face of so much financial pressure.
Keep feeding on God’s word, and make Jesus a part of that—involve Him by asking Him to reveal the meaning of the Scriptures to you and to give you fresh revelation.
You are going to walk directly into your blessings. They are already ahead of you, in your path!

Ingredients:
Serves 40 (assuming about 1 piece per person)
2kg pork belly
3 cubes of fermented bean curd
1 tablespoon of five spice powder
0.5 tablespoon of salt (normal)
2 tablespoons of rice wine
0.5 tablespoon of baking powder (not baking soda)
1 tablespoon of coarse sea salt
1 to 2 tablespoon of white vinegar
A few dashes of white pepper
Temperatures used
180C for 1 hr (middle rack)
240C for 20 mins
Remove from oven and then brush oil on skin. We used peanut oil. Please do not use olive oil as it has Low smoking point unless if you’re using very high quality olive oil
Back in the oven at 240C for 20 mins (top rack)
Note:
Please pay attention when it’s roasting in the oven during the last segment of 20 mins. If your pork skin starts to brown too much, you wanna reduce the temperature. No worries if they are a little charred. You can use a butter knife to scrap the charred bits out.

Takoyaki (たこ焼き or 蛸焼?) is a ball-shaped Japanese snack made of a wheat flour-based batter and cooked in a special moulded pan. It is typically filled with minced or diced octopus (tako), tempura scraps (tenkasu), pickled ginger, and green onion. Takoyaki are brushed with takoyaki sauce (similar to Worcestershire sauce) and mayonnaise, and then sprinkled with green laver (aonori) and shavings of dried bonito. There are many variations to the takoyaki recipe, for example, ponzu (soy sauce with dashi and citrus vinegar), goma-dare (sesame-and-vinegar sauce) or vinegared dashi.
Takoyaki was first popularized in Osaka, where a street vendor named Tomekichi Endo is credited with its invention in 1935. Takoyaki was inspired by akashiyaki, a small round dumpling from the city of Akashi in Hyōgo Prefecture made of an egg-rich batter and octopus. Takoyaki was initially popular in the Kansai region, and later spread to the Kantō region and other areas of Japan. Takoyaki is associated with yatai street food stalls, and there are many well-established takoyaki specialty restaurants, particularly in the Kansai region. Takoyaki is now sold at commercial outlets, such as supermarkets and 24-hour convenience stores.
Yaki is derived from "yaku" (焼く) which is one of the cooking methods in Japanese cuisine, meaning "to fry or grill", and can be found in the names of other Japanese cuisine items such as teppanyaki, yakitori, teriyaki, okonomiyaki and sukiyaki.

Recipe at: http://www.themeatmen.sg/sweet-and-sour-vinegar-spare-ribs
Literally meaning sugar and vinegar, this is a dish with classic Chinese origins. Zhe Jiang vinegar is made from fermented glutinous rice. It is dark in colour and and has a rich and smoky flavour. These flavours are then imparted to the pork ribs during the cooking process. Sugar makes the sauce rich and sticky, allowing it to coat itself on the spare ribs. Giving this dish the perfect SWEET and SOUR balance!
Another one of those dishes you can whip up in practically no time at all and still tastes really good!
