Chef Zam's Marvelous Marble Cake with Buttermilk

Ingredients:

113gm unsalted butter, room temperature, plus more for pan
1 ¾ cups cake flour (not self-rising)
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
3 large eggs, room temperature
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2/3 cup buttermilk, room temperature
¼ cup plus 1 tablespoon Dutch-process cocoa powder

Method:

1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Generously grease a 9-by-5-inch loaf pan; set aside.

2. Whisk together the cake flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.

3. Beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating until combined after each addition and scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.

4. Mix in vanilla. Add flour mixture in 2 batches, alternating with the buttermilk and beginning and ending with the flour. Set aside 1/3 of the batter.

5. In a bowl, mix cocoa and ¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons boiling water with a rubber spatula until smooth. Add the cocoa mixture to the reserved cake batter; stir until well combined.

6. Spoon batters into the prepared pan in 2 layers, alternating spoonfuls of vanilla and chocolate to simulate a checkerboard. To create marbling, run a table knife (or wooden skewer) through the batters in a swirling motion.

7. Bake, rotating the pan halfway through, until a cake tester comes out clean, 40 to 50 minutes. Transfer pan to a rack to cool 10 minutes.

8. Turn out cake from pan and cool completely on the rack.

* Kalau tak de buttermilk, campurkan 1/2 sudu kecil jus lemon ke dalam susu, kacau dan biarkan ia pekat seketika sebelum digunakan.

今回は意外とリクエストがあった煮物、【鰤大根】を作ります！
味付けはいたってシンプルです。我が家では調味料を煮立たせて煮ていきます。
最初にみりんと出汁で煮て、魚を霜降りして,○○して、△△して・・・
なんてめんどくさいのは省いてます(笑)


・【材料3～4人分】
鰤　切り身
大根　1/2本くらい
椎茸（あれば）

水　450cc
生姜　少々
砂糖　大さじ3
みりん　大さじ2
醤油　大さじ2.5～3

【Materials】
· bowl
· water
· nail polish
·toothpick
·glass

【Steps】
1, Pour water into the bowl and randomly drop on nail polish
2, draw marble pattern with a toothpick
3, When the nail polish dries on the water surface, slide the glass on the surface of the water and print the pattern
4, Once the nail polish on the glass dries, it is completed!

【つくり方】
1,ボウルに水を張り、マニキュアをランダムに垂らす
2,爪楊枝でマーブル模様を描く
3,水面でマニキュアが乾いたら、グラスを水面に滑らせるようにして模様を写す
4,グラスに写したマニキュアが乾いたら完成です！

マニキュアが乾いていないと転写しにくいため、マーブリング後少し水面のマニキュアを乾かしてから転写しましょう！
