Continuing our one-park-per-week visit today, we found ourselves at Thomson Nature Park. And even though it rained heavily midway through our walk, we found joy in walking in the rain! 🤪
The nature park is home to the ruins of an old Hainanese village that was there from the 1930s, and offers five walking trails spanning 3.8 km around the former village's road network. The longest & most interestjng trail is the Ruins and Figs Trail (1.5km) because it brings visitors along a trail where there are plenty of abandoned and old buildings, still-standing walls, wells and even old road networks. Extremely educational and doable even for young kids, in my opinion. Oh and here's a fun fact, the founder of Han's Cafe previously lived in the village!
