[Rumor] เขาลือกันว่า: Valve กำลังพัฒนาเครื่องเล่นเกม Steam แบบพกพา โดยใช้ชื่อว่า "SteamPal" อยู่?

จากรายงานของ SteamDB ระบุว่า ในอัปเดต Steam Beta ล่าสุด มีสตริงที่อ้างอิงถึงระบบแบบพกพาที่มีชื่อว่า "SteamPal" (หรือโค้ดเนมว่า Neptune) ซึ่งมีฟีเจอร์ต่างๆ อาทิ การตั้งค่าคอนโทรลเลอร์, เมนู Quick Access, การตั้งค่าระบบ อาทิ Airplane Mode, Wifi และ Bluetooth รวมไปถึง Power Menu ที่ทำให้ทาง SteamDB คาดเดาว่า Valve อาจจะกำลังพัฒนา Steam ในรูปแบบเครื่องเกมคอนโซลแบบพกพาอยู่

ซึ่งนี่ก็ไม่ใช่ครั้งแรกที่ Valve พยายามทำอะไรมากกว่าร้านค้าขายเกม PC เพราะก่อนหน้านี้ก็เคยทำ Steam Link, Steam Box, Steam Controller มาก่อน และแน่นอน รวมไปถึง Valve Index ด้วย

ไม่ว่ามันจะเป็นอะไร แต่เราก็อาจจะไม่น่าจะได้เห็นการเปิดตัวในเร็วๆ นี้ เพราะจากการถาม-ตอบในการให้สัมภาษณ์ล่าสุด คุณ Gabe Newell ผู้สร้าง Steam และเป็นผู้ร่วมก่อตั้ง Valve ได้รับคำถามว่า Steam จะนำเกมลงคอนโซลในเร็วๆ นี้หรือไม่ และคุณ Newell ตอบกลับมาว่า "เราจะได้รู้เกี่ยวกับเรื่องนั้นได้ดีขึ้นในช่วงสิ้นปีนี้"

อย่างไรก็ตาม นี่เป็นเพียงการคาดเดาจากทางสื่อเท่านั้น ยังไม่ใช่การยืนยันหรือประกาศจากทาง Valve ดังนั้นจึงต้องใช้วิจารณญาณในการรับฟังเช่นเดียวกับข่าวลืออื่นๆ
