During my talks with the youth, a recurring theme I hear is how fearful they are of failure. In a way, our society has conditioned them to believe that they are only worth their successes, and so they try to avoid the very mistakes that could propel them to grow.
Let’s face it— many standards they are surrounded by are unrealistic. Not a lot of people talk about their struggles, or how difficult it is to achieve what looks so simple and easy.
So whenever we can, let’s share our challenges, fears, struggles and vulnerabilities. By admitting that we make just as many mistakes as our successes, we can empower our youth to look at failure as a chance to grow.
