在橫座標(r:一般指 核間距 or 鍵長)不一定是在同個位置
根據Franck - condon principle 電子吸收或放射躍遷 因為電子速度遠大於核的速度

故S0->S1之間的躍遷能量 最大的機率 和 S1->S0 躍遷能量最大的機率
不一定相同 所以會造成 吸收光譜 與 放光(螢光)光譜 訊號最強的波長不同
而這段能量差 稱為 stoke shift

然而 Anti-stoke shift這一詞 最常和Raman一起出現(其他地方我還沒看過)

簡單定義是 放光光譜訊號最強的波長 小於 吸收光譜訊號最強的波長
成因是 位在S0的分子 可能分佈在不同的振動能階(v=1,2,3...)
而各能階分佈的數量可由熱力學的波茲曼分布來得知 和分子所處的環境溫度有關係
在拉曼光譜中 幾乎所有的散射光子都和入射光子具有相同能量
然而有部分的分子(v=0)在和光子碰撞後 吸收了一個振動能階的能量
所以放出的光子能量小於入射光子 這一個能量差 稱為 Stoke Raman shift
此外
有一些原先就處在(v=1)的分子 和入射光子碰撞以後 反而回到(v=0)
送給了入射光子一個振動能階的能量
所以放光光子能量大於入射光子能量 這個能量差就稱為 Anti-stoke Raman shift

Anti-stoke和stoke的訊號會出現在 Rayleigh(入射光=散射光 波長)的兩側 而且對稱

至於Blue shift 或 Red shift通常是指 "分子受到外在環境改變的影響"而產生的差異
是一種互相比較之下的結果

一般我們做實驗會選定某一個溶劑 量測分子的吸收或放光光譜
而這兩者的差距 就是先前所說的 stoke shift
之後
依照實驗需要 可能會改用不同的溶劑來量測 得到另外的吸收或放光光譜
而這兩組實驗的訊號 會有所差異 依情況稱之為Blue shift 或是Red shift
造成紅移(弘儀?)或藍移的情況有很多
為什麼會讓紅移或藍移的原因也有很多 (pH 極性 溫度 黏度 etc.)
這就是我們學化學的人所要關切的事情(老師都這樣講)
