Are there days when you feel like you don’t have enough? Or days when you feel like YOU are not enough? My friend, you’re not alone—in the famous story in the Gospels of Jesus feeding the 5000, His disciples felt the same way.
.
In John 6, we see that Philip fixed his eyes on the vastness of the need (the multitude of hungry people), and Andrew fixed his eyes on the littleness of the supply (the boy’s five loaves and two fishes). Neither of them remembered that they were in the presence of the miracle-working Savior!
.
Last week, I preached about how in the midst of the disciples’ dilemma, Jesus showed them—and us—how to receive HIS supply in areas of lack. He gave thanks to God for the seemingly little provision of bread and fish that He had and in HIS hands, they began to multiply—so much so that there were twelve full baskets of leftovers!
.
When you thank the Lord for the little you have and place it in His hands, He can multiply it beyond your wildest imagination. The Bible says that the supply of bread and fish didn't stopped until the people ate “as much as they wanted” (John 6:11)! This is God’s lavish heart for us today! Beloved, I believe that as you begin to turn your eyes away from what you have (or don’t have) and begin to thank the Lord for His grace and supply, you’ll begin to experience the miracle you need for your situation!
