=================================
1) Set(一組)
=================================
<例文>
This is a nice gift set. Why don’t you get this for your coworker?
Let’s do some squats. We’re going to do three sets of ten.
This patio furniture comes as a set.
=================================
2) Dis(批判する)
=================================
<例文>
Why are you dissing me like that?
Jack and Matt have a Twitter war going on. They’ve been dissing each other nonstop.
I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to diss you.
=================================
3) Cheat(ずるい)
=================================
<例文>
You can’t look up the answers on Google. That’s cheating.
(Google
Mr. Smith, John is cheating again. He’s hiding cards.
Don’t cheat. Cheaters never win.
=================================
4) In a way(ある意味)
=================================
<例文>
In a way, taking a train is more convenient than driving.
In a way, maybe it was good that he failed.
In a way, American Thanksgiving is similar to Japanese New Year’s.
=================================
5) Extraordinary(並外れた)
=================================
<例文>
An extraordinary amount of effort and time went into this project.
Congratulations! That’s an extraordinary accomplishment.
He’s an extraordinarily talented baseball player. He has a bright future.

Pick up(ピックアップ)の使い方が違う?
=================================
~「~を選び出す」はpick upではなくpick out~
例えば、数種類の色違いのシャツの中から「好きなシャツを(1枚だけ)選んで」と言う場合は「Pick out a shirt that you like.」、「最も好きなシャツを2枚選んで」は「Pick out your two favorite shirts」、「シャツを数枚選んで」は「Pick out a few shirts.」
<例文>
I picked out a few designs that I liked.
Can you help me pick out a souvenir?
Go ahead and pick out a wine that you like.
<例文>
Pick up your trash. / Pick your trash up.
Pick up your toys! / Pick your toys up!
と聞く場合は「Can you pick me up?」、「5時に迎えに行くね」は「I’ll pick you up at 5.」 ここでは、「Can you pick up me?」や「I’ll pick up you.」
<例文>
I’m going to pick up my clothes from the dry cleaners. / I’m going to pick my clothes up from the dry cleaners.
Can you pick up the cake? / Can you pick the cake up?
<例文>
I picked up some snacks at the convenience store. / I picked some snacks up at the convenience store.
Can you stop by Starbucks and pick up some coffee? / Can you stop by Starbucks and pick some coffee up?
友達に「今夜は私がおごるよ」と言う場合は、 「I’ll pick up the tab tonight.」もしくは「I’ll pick up the bill tonight.」 また、ここでもpick upを2語に分けて使うことができるので、「I’ll pick the tab/bill up tonight.」
正式にはpick up the phoneですが、日常会話ではシンプルにpick upで表現します。
<例文>
Did she pick up?
She didn’t pick up. It went straight to her voicemail.
<例文>
I picked up English watching movies. / I picked English up watching movies.
She’s really good at snowboarding. She picked it up right away.
I picked up some* French while I was in Paris. / I picked some* French up while I was in Paris.
<例文>
Let’s pick up where we left off.
It’s getting late. We can pick up where we left off tomorrow.

In this video, I will show you a fun idea to enjoy matcha green tea pound cake ;)
Adding meringue in the pound cake makes it moist and fluffy!
Sorry my drawing is awful...
I know you can draw better than me!!! hehe
---------------------------------
HALLOWEEN Frankenstein Matcha Green Tea Pound Cake
Difficulty: Medium
Time: 2hrs
Number of servings: 1 loaf
Necessary Equipment:
18×8cm (7x3inch) loaf pan
Ingredients:
100g (3.5oz.) unsalted butter *room temperature
80g (2.8oz.) granulated sugar
2 eggs *room temperature
2 tbsp. soymilk or milk
2 tbsp. granulated sugar
A
* 120g (4.2oz.) cake flour
* 1&1/2 tbsp. matcha green tea powder
* 1/2 tsp. baking powder
chocolate pens *you can draw 2 Frankensteins with 1 pen
Directions:
1. Line the loaf pan with parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 180C (350F). Mix A and sift them together if you have time.
2. Cream the butter in a large bowl with a wire whisk. Add 80g (2.8oz.) granulated sugar little by little and mix well.
3. Separate egg whites and egg yolks. Add the egg yolks one by one and mix well. Then add soymilk and mix well.
4. Make meringue in a separate bowl: Whip egg whites with an electric mixer until foamy. Gradually add granulated sugar 1/3 at a time, then continue to whip until stiff glossy peaks form when you lift the beaters.
5. Add 1/3 of the meringue into the butter mixture (3.), and blend well with a spatula.
6. Sift in A and fold in with a spatula. Then add the rest of the meringue and fold in gently but thoroughly.
7. Pour the batter into the pan and smooth the top. Drop the pan lightly on the counter to raise the air bubbles out of the batter. Use the spatula to cut an incision lengthwise down middle of cake to prevent unwanted cracks on the surface.
8. Bake at 180C (350F) for 15 minutes. Then turn down to 160C (320F) and bake for 35-40 minutes. *Cover the cake with aluminum foil if it starts to brown too much. Insert a stick into the cake to check whether it is baked or not.
9. Remove the cake from the pan and place it on a wire rack to cool.
10. Slice the pound cake. Set a chocolate pen in a cup of hot water for a few minutes. Cut the tip of the chocolate pen and draw Frankenstein faces on pound cake slices.
* When the cake is completely cool, wrap tightly in plastic wrap. It will last wrapped this way for few days (in the fridge).
* You can also wrap each slices of pound cake individually with a plastic wrap.
