昨晚我跟參加臺灣公開賽的美國球員之中排名最高的羅傑斯（Shelby Rogers）選手聊得很開心。羅傑斯選手稍早剛結束她對上臺灣人氣選手李亞軒的賽事，取得她的第一場勝利；她也很大方地抽空與我見面，談到她對臺灣留下了深刻的印象，以及她非常喜歡造訪新的地方。羅傑斯選手對自己的家鄉引以為傲，她來自南卡羅來納州的查爾斯頓，那裡是美國代表性的美食城市之一。從小到大，網球是我最喜歡的運動之一，我也特別崇拜我們那個年代的一些選手，像是山普拉斯（Pete Sampras）、阿格西（Andre Agassi），還有張德培（Michael Chang）。大家有機會都應該親自到臺灣公開賽看看這些網球選手的堅強實力。祝羅傑斯選手一路過關斬將，也祝福其他女子選手都能在球場上大顯身手！ --- 梅健華 #FromAITDirector
I had a great time chatting last night with Shelby Rogers, the top-ranked American player at the Taiwan Open. Shelby had won her first match earlier in the day against local favorite Lee Ya-Hsuan and was generous with her time, telling me how impressed she was with Taiwan and how much she enjoyed visiting new places. She also spoke with pride about her hometown, Charleston, South Carolina, one of the best food cities in America. Tennis was one of my favorite sports when I was growing up and I admired players of my generation like Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, and Michael Chang. You should check out the Taiwan Open to see some seriously fine athletes. Good luck to Shelby and all of the other women!...km
