根據《日本經濟新聞》於7月26日晚上的報導，武本康弘證實在上星期四發生的京都動畫第一工作室大火中喪生，享年47歲。
代表作有擔任導演的《驚爆危機》系列、《幸運☆星》、《涼宮春日的消失》、《冰菓》、《甘城輝煌樂園救世主》及《小林家的女僕龍》。
Yasuhiro Takemoto died in the Kyoto Animation arson attack on July 18, confirmed by his family. He was the director of “Full Metal Panic!”series, “Lucky Star”, “The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya”and “Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid”.
