An Overnight Shade From the Heat

“So the LORD God prepared a plant and it grew up over Jonah, to be a shade over his head to spare him from discomfort. And Jonah was extremely happy about [the protection of] the plant...Then the LORD said, “You had compassion on the plant for which you did not work and which you did not cause to grow, which came up overnight...” (Jonah‬ ‭4:6, 10‬ ‭AMP‬‬)

This year you may face the heat of persecution as you desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus.

When Jonah left Nineveh (a picture of the world) and sat to watch it from a distance, the scorching sun was burning overhead.

The enemy will send fiery weapons to try and take your eyes off Jesus, but you don’t have to fear the heat.

When you choose to take your eyes off the world and fix them onto Jesus, persecution comes to try and sabotage your faith.

However God can accelerate time in your favor to give you supernatural protection from the heat of persecution.

Like how the plant grew up overnight, God is going to speed up the progress of some good things in your life to counter the enemy’s attacks.

For example, if the devil attacks and causes some unforeseen expenses, God is going to supernaturally accelerate the progress of your career or business to usher in more than enough provision to meet those needs.

If the enemy causes injury or sickness, your healing will spring forth speedily like the speed of light. It’ll be as if you were never hurt at all.

People will be stunned at the supernatural speed of your progress. They will ask “How can this be?” and you’ll have opportunities to give God all the glory.

Just like how God caused the plant to grow overnight without any work from Jonah, the time miracles breaking forth this year in your life will happen by God’s Grace, paid for by Jesus’ finished work at the cross!

Your only part is to believe and in His promises. The watery shield of faith will quench all the enemy’s fiery darts!
