New blog post: http://www.ahappymum.com/2021/09/bugaboo-stardust-portacot-review.html
Now that the baby is six months old, has outgrown his bouncer, is an expert at flipping over, and is getting more active and adventurous, it has become a challenge for me to lay him down while ensuring his safety.
Yet, as a stay-at-home mum who has three other kids to care for and endless chores to complete each day, it is just not feasible for me to be carrying him all day long. Therefore, I was excited to review the Bugaboo Stardust, which is a multi-purpose portacot and play yard that comes in handy for my needs.
On the blog, read about how it has made my life easier in the past weeks and how baby Ansel has taken to it. I love the all-in-one design, how it can be instantly unfolded in 1 second (yes, you read it right!), and how it is portable, adjustable and comfortable for my baby.
The Bugaboo Stardust is now available at SGD419 in two colourways - the classic Black and Grey Mélange. It is available for purchase at First Few Years, Mothercare and Motherswork as well as online at https://www.lazada.sg/shop/bugaboo and https://shopee.sg/bugaboo_official_store.

No matter how old you are, you will be my forever baby girl. Took this series of pictures when Arielle just got up from her nap. It has been more than 6 months since we started toilet-training. Arielle hates poop on her bum bum, she would not sit after she poop. She would stand, squat, even lie down with her butt off the bed 😂 That made the start of toilet training pretty easy!
Level 1:
She would tell us when she wants to poop and we would bring her to the toilet, sit with her while she do her business 😛 She would request for us to read books with her while she’s on her potty.
Level 2:
Within weeks, we moved up to step 2 of toilet training - she would also tell us when she wants to pee pee too. This started because she saw her classmates going to the toilet and she wanted to follow suit. She started to wear training pants at home, changed back to diapers when we headed out. Slowly, we increased the duration she was in training diapers, she could hold her bladder and tell us when she wanted to pee when we were out too!
Level 3:
Now we are at no diapers for naps on weekends. She has gotten better, we would make sure she pees before her nap and if she has had a good lunch, we will coax her into not having milk before her nap. It has been going pretty smoothly but there were 2-3 misses. We make sure we lay @agisarang_singapore’s Mooroo Bamboo Waterproof Mat on her bed before she naps. Bamboo is well known for its softness and absorbency. The 3-layers mat consists of the Cotton layer for absorbency, Bamboo layer for breathability, Waterproof layer for repellency. Made in Korea and available in 3 sizes. Save some money with ZRT10 for 10% off!

International Breastfeeding Week got me scrolling back to January 2020 and March 2018 for pictures of my first few skin to skin contact with my babies. Arielle and Aaron looked and behaved very similarly!
Same same but different, because it is still a challenge to nurse Aaron when we are out because is an easily distracted baby. Even at my parents’ place, he is very curious about his surroundings. He would rather go hungry!
But my biggest challenge came 3 weeks ago when I was down with dengue. Persistent high fever, aches, rashes, I was physically and mentally exhausted. My supply dipped on the 4th day of my fever as I only managed to pump 50ml for some feeds when Aaron takes at least 160ml. I was upset but determined to overcome this hurdle. Coincidentally, I had the same hurdle when Arielle was 6 months old. My beloved 阿公 passed on (It will be 2 years this month) and I had pneumonia right after the funeral wake. I thought to myself, I had pneumonia and was hospitalised then, if I could build back supply then, let me try my best again this time!
I latched as much as Aaron allowed me too, I say this because supply was so weak and slow, he was fussy, I could see him struggle and sucking hard for his milk. I told him to work hard with me as we could only do this together. Sometimes it was sufficient, sometimes it wasn’t, so we would give him a top up of bm from my extra pumps.
Besides the extra pumps I would do after latches - for 2 weeks, before I went to bed, I would prepare 2 slices of bread, 4 bottles of water for my MOTN feeds. I drank a lot more soup and water, in hopes to build supply. I recovered after 2 weeks and thankfully supply came back gradually.
Thank God! Thank you, Aaron and thank you my IG family for being so encouraging when my supply was weak and sharing my joy when supply returned. So here I am, 6.5 months into living life in 3-4 hourly blocks. Breastfeeding is easily one of the most challenging and time consuming thing a mama can do for her children. Low supply, just-nice, oversupply mamas, we all have our own fights - we can do this! 👊🏻 Happy International Breastfeeding Week!

Training and Nutrition Around The Menstrual Cycle with Ben Siong
A really informative chat with fitness and health expert Ben Siong. For all my sisters, who have always questioned bout why they have irregular periods, why they bloat, why they have painful periods, what's the possible cause for bleeding more than two weeks here's a video that will help explain those questions!
The human body is very complicated and my dear sisters, ours is even more complicated cause we have a thing called the period. Ben is one of the few coaches who takes the time to not only understand the physiology of the body but also the mind which is incredibly crucial. I do hope you take away valueable information from this video, because Ben's had shared a lot of his expertise during this 1 hour. :)
Questions Timestamps:
1:50 We hear a lot from old folks that women shouldn’t lift lower body higher than stomach for optimal reproductive system. Truth or myth?
8:25 Should we train during period?
10:15 Pre period - what to eat to avoid bloating (if ur vegan or vegetarian) so u still have the energy to lift weights?
15:16 What exercises to do pre period so that during menses it’s less painful?
16:55 Why do some cycles end quicker for instance as quick as 4 days? Should she consult the gynae?
21:00 My Personal encounter of bleeding 4 months straight, what would have been the response for excessive bleeding?
24:00 Brief chat on understanding PCOS and PCO
29:27 In a paper "Preliminary Evidence for a Window of Increased Vulnerability to Sustain a Concussion in Females: A Brief Report" the author states that declining or low levels of estrogen and progesterone (specifically in the late luteal phase and first two days of menstruation) can reduce neuroprotection and blunt recovery time from traumatic brain injury symptoms (i.e. concussions). Would those decreased levels of hormones, and reduced neuroprotection also impact CNS recovery? And would female athletes have to then avoid highly taxing sessions/peaking periods during this time frame?
37:11 I've read that lower back pain during menstruation is caused by the uterus swelling which can create pressure on the uterosacral ligaments and lead to pain in the lower back and pelvis. Is this accurate? If so should females generally avoid deadlifts/front squats/lower back intensive exercises during this period? Should they be left out entirely, or replaced by something else?
38:21 Besides the supplementation of magnesium and iron, are there other ways we should change the way we eat around our cycles?
39:48 Personally, I do workout during this period of time & it does make me feel better.
However, I realised that if I perform very high intensity workout on the first two days of my period, I tend to have lesser flow for the month. I feel completely well & healthy but I’m not sure if that’s something I should be worried about
41:53: I have irregular period, in that case what type of training and nutrition I should opt for coach?
