2010年（平成22年）
3月17日　駅舎完成。
12月4日　新幹線の開業に伴い、駅開業。
2011年（平成23年）3月11日　東北地方太平洋沖地震（東日本大震災）の影響で東北新幹線が全線不通となり、3月21日まで営業を休止。
2013年（平成25年）3月16日　これまで全ての列車が通過していた「はやぶさ」が、同日のダイヤ改正を機に停車するようになった。
2017年（平成29年）6月30日　びゅうプラザ営業終了。
2020年（令和2年）3月14日　新幹線eチケットサービス開始。
2021年（令和3年）3月13日　タッチでGo!新幹線のサービスを開始。
2019年度（令和元年度）の1日平均乗車人員は761人。

西小倉駅（にしこくらえき）
JR九州。鹿児島本線・日豊本線
1915年（大正4年）4月　鉄道院により小倉駅（2代）が当地に移転開業。
1958年（昭和33年）3月1日　小倉駅が現在の位置に移転する。
1974年（昭和49年）12月14日　日本国有鉄道が当地に西小倉駅を開設。開業当時は日豊本線所属駅だった。
1987年（昭和62年）
4月1日　国鉄分割民営化に伴い、九州旅客鉄道（JR九州）の駅となる。
10月1日　鹿児島本線にホーム新設。
2003年（平成15年）
3月29日　橋上駅舎新築、駅舎が鉄道建築協会賞（推薦）受賞。
7月7日　日豊本線、鹿児島本線の快速が停車。
2009年（平成21年）3月1日　ICカード「SUGOCA」の利用を開始。
2019年（令和元年）度の1日平均乗車人員は5,269人で、JR九州の駅としては今宿駅に次いで第36位。
