#APG2015 reflection post 4/4:
I've gained a whole new of appreciation for what goes on behind the scenes - to make a Games experience good for not just the athletes, but the officials and the spectators. I learnt so much and am so grateful to be have been given the opportunity not just to present, but to work with the people I did. This concludes my series of reflection posts, thank you for staying tuned! Back to the usual day-to-day updates :)

#APG2015 reflection post 3/4: Inspiring others with who have disabilities.
On the last day of Swimming races, I was having dinner together with a few other Team Singapore athletes at KWM when we spotted a young boy in a wheelchair. I had wondered what it mean for him and his family to be able to watch these amazing para athletes in action, and how lovely it would be if he could meet and interact with some of our athletes. Fast forward till the end of dinner; the stars aligned. Yip Pin Xiu and Theresa Goh had stopped by to join us for awhile and got to meet the boy, Jeremiah. His smile when he saw them, his patience as he waited for Theresa to be done with her phone interviews, and his awe when he held one of their medals in his hands... Priceless. (Picture by Sam Leong)

#APG2015 reflection post 2/4: finding solutions instead of dwelling on problems.
To me, the spirit of this games would be resilience. Often we see problems instead of solutions. I watched one legged long and high jumpers reach distances and heights I would never be capable of, to the butterfly swimmer who had no arms swim faster than I ever will or could. Their perseverance to accomplish things that many would have never even thought possible given their ability truly is inspiring. I realise how negative we can be, and how much time is wasted accepting that we cannot, instead of finding a way to reach the same goal through a different path.
