The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commanded us to do seven things: to visit the sick, to follow the funeral (of a dead believer), to invoke the Mercy of Allah upon one who sneezes (i.e., by saying to him: Yarhamuk- Allah), to support the weak, to help the oppressed, to promote the greeting of 'As-Salamu 'Alaikum', and to help those who swear to do something to keep their oaths. (Bukhari and Muslim)

“As-Salaamu Alaikum” is the best Dua. The word ‘salaam’ comes from the root ‘salema‘, which implies to disassociate oneself from evil and harm. Thus, when we greet other Muslims, the greeting means: “No harm shall come to you from me (may no evil come to you, may no harm come to you)

And since As-Salaam is also one of the Beautiful Names of Allaah, the greeting of salaam also means: “May the blessing of His Name descend upon you, may Allah be with you, may Allah guide and protect you.”

Many of us find ourselves feeling restless, worried, always running after something that does not give us true peace and contentment in the heart. We fail to realize that running after the pleasure of dunya will only increase us in the poverty of the heart and even if we have everything that is in this world, we will never be happy. When dunya is our priority, our heart becomes poor.

But, If Allah is our priority, devoting ourselves to His worship, then He will make our hearts rich and content, He will fulfill all our needs and He will take care of us! He gives us the balance we need between fulfilling our needs and sincere ibaadah. Ask yourself: what am I spending most of my time on? Is it time for me to change direction? Am I grateful and happy with my blessings?
