You Were Healed

“When evening came, they brought to him many possessed with demons. He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, “He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases.”” (Matthew‬ ‭8:16-17‬ WEB‬‬)

How come Jesus could heal all these sinners who came to Him? Doesn’t death have the right to latch upon a sinner? Someone has to pay the price for that.

Yes, it is true. Every infirmity (weakness) and disease that Jesus healed, He also bore in His own body at the cross. He took all our sicknesses upon Himself.

What did Isaiah say?

“Surely he has borne our sickness, and carried our suffering; yet we considered him plagued, struck by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah‬ ‭53:4-5‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

At the cross, Jesus was not punished for His own sins—He had always been sinless. Abba God placed our sins, sicknesses, and infirmities upon Jesus, and let the fire of His wrath fall upon Jesus as our substitute.

Since God’s wrath has been fully exhausted in Jesus’ body, there is none left for us who are now in Christ. Jesus righteously purchased our shalom (complete wellness and wholeness with nothing lacking or broken), causing us to be healed.

“who his own self bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.” (1 Peter‬ ‭2:24‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Peter puts this truth in perspective for us. By the stripes that Jesus received, we WERE healed. Our healing happened at the cross.

Today, we who believe in Jesus are no longer sinners. Death has no right to latch upon us because we are resurrected beings, having already died to sin with Jesus at the cross.

We have received the righteousness of God, which is Jesus’ own righteousness. This gift of righteousness marks us for God’s grace. We are blessed with every blessing because we are the righteous!

If you see and experience symptoms of sickness or infirmity in your body, meditate on this message and let this truth sink into your heart: you were healed at the cross because Jesus paid the full price for it. When you clearly understand what happened, you will have boldness to take what is already yours!

Reinventing Workers for the Post-COVID Economy

The nation’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic will hinge ( ) to some extent ( ) on how quickly show managers can become electricians ( ), whether taxi drivers can become plumbers ( ), and how many cooks can manage software for a bank.

This is likely to prove especially problematic for millions of low-paid workers in service industries like retailing ( ), hospitality ( ), building maintenance and transportation, which may be permanently impaired ( ) or fundamentally transformed. What will janitors ( ) do if fewer people work in offices? What will waiters do if the urban restaurant ecosystem never recovers its density ( )?

Their prognosis ( ) is bleak ( ). Marcela Escobari, an economist at the Brookings Institution, warns that even if the economy adds jobs as the coronavirus risk fades ( ), “the rebound won’t help the people that have been hurt the most.”

Looking back over 16 years of data, Escobari finds that workers in the occupations ( ) most heavily hit since the spring will have a difficult time reinventing themselves. Taxi drivers, dancers and front-desk clerks have poor track records moving to jobs as, say, registered nurses, pipe layers or instrumentation technicians.

COVID is abruptly ( ) taking out a swath ( ) of jobs that were thought to be comparatively ( ) resilient ( ), in services that require personal contact with customers. And the jolt ( ) has landed squarely on workers with little or no education beyond high school, toiling ( ) in the low-wage service economy.

“The damage to the economy and particularly to workers will probably be longer lasting than we think it is going to be,” said Peter Beard, senior vice president at the Greater Houston Partnership, an economic development group.

The challenge is not insurmountable ( ). Yet despite scattered ( ) success stories, moving millions of workers into new occupations remains an enormous ( ) challenge.

“We need a New Deal ( ) for skills,” said Amit Sevak, president of Revature, a company that hires workers, trains them to use digital tools and helps place them in jobs. “President Roosevelt deployed ( ) the massive number of workers unemployed in the Great Depression on projects that created many of the dams ( ) and roads and bridges we have. The Ultimate Purpose of Life

“This is the end of the matter. All has been heard. Fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every work into judgment, with every hidden thing, whether it is good, or whether it is evil.” (Ecclesiastes‬ ‭12:13-14‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

The person who wrote the Book of Ecclesiastes is the richest and wisest mortal man in history: King Solomon.

After sharing all his wisdom, his conclusion is this: our whole duty is to fear God (worship Him with reverential awe) and keep His commandments (to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and to love one another as Christ loved us).

“Jesus said these things, and lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, “Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may also glorify you; even as you gave him authority over all flesh, he will give eternal life to all whom you have given him. This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ.” (John‬ ‭17:1-3‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

If you have been wondering, this is the purpose for which we were born: to know Abba God and Jesus Christ.

Not just in the mind, but to know God experientially, intuitively, and eventually face-to-face.

There will be a time of judgment in the future, but for a believer, there is no sentence of condemnation because our evil works have already been judged in Jesus’ body at the cross. He endured the fiery wrath of God on our behalf.

All that is left for us is to receive the rewards for both open and hidden good works done for Christ.

If you live your life keeping the Grace commandments—basically a life of leaning on God’s love and sharing that love with others, you will be greatly rewarded when it is time to stand before Jesus’ throne.

Wait, what? We get spared for all the evil deeds that we do and get rewarded for all the good works done by using the grace that God first gave to us? Yes, it sounds way too good to be true, but it is the truth.

Most believers have no idea what God’s rewards are. They know of blessings, but when it comes to rewards, it is hardly taught about. The common misconception is to mix up blessings and rewards—but these two are different.

Blessings were paid for by Jesus’ blood at the cross, and God has already blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Heaven. On the other hand, rewards are still with Jesus in Heaven. He said that His reward is with Him—we will only receive them after He comes again.

Finally! We done 95% of our #shengyixtziahome Reno, there’s still corners that are work-in-progress. However, we thought, we should do the house tour video now, and slowly work on the remaining 5%, where we might or might not do another YouTube video, but would definitely share it on our Instagram. This house was the effect of MCO I would say, if it wasn’t because of us being forced to stay home for such a long period of time last year, we might not thought of moving because we were so used to working outside, and home was just a place for us to sleep in after a long day. We never really put it thoughts about moving in to a bigger space, and possibly the next stage of life.

Back to what has already done for #shengyixtziahome thus far... I just want to say, I’m so proud of us! Hard work paid off, when we finally got this house that is comfortable enough for us to stay in the entire day, and a place we can finally host our family & friends for drinks & dinner. Yay!

We are just really HAPPY in this space, that is just so #shengyixtzia. Hahah.
