"Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" is a song by American boy band Backstreet Boys. It was released as the first single from their second international album Backstreet's Back in June 1997, and the third single from their debut US album in March 1998. The US debut was originally released without the song, which references the band's return via their second international album. However, once it was decided that the single would be released in the US, the album was re-released with "Everybody" included. Billboard commented that the song has "a contagious dance/pop beat and catchy hook that perfectly showcases this talented group's voices."

Mullet – Đầu cắt moi là cái gì thế?

Vâng – nhờ ơn những anh giang hồ 4.0, mà giờ Khái niệm “Đầu Moi” còn phổ biến hơn cả under-cut hay những kiểu tóc khác. Dù vui vẻ hay chế giễu thì cái cụm từ “Đầu Moi” này cũng mang nhiều sự tiêu cực tới những người đang sở hữu mãi tóc này và mang tới một sự khó chịu. Vậy “Đầu moi” là gì thế?

Khái niệm về kiểu tóc này đã có từ rất lâu rồi. Ngay năm 1994, đã có một bài hát mang tên là “Mullet Head” trong album “III Communicationm” miêu tả rõ ràng về kiểu tóc này:

“You wanna know what is mullet?
Well, I got a little story to tell
About a Hair style that’s the way of life”

“Mày muốn biết mullet là cái gì không
À, tao có câu câu chuyện này để kể
Về một kiểu tóc và một phong cách sống”
“Number one on the side and don’t touch the back
Number six on the top and don’t cut it wack, Jack
Cut the sides, don’t touch the back”
“Số 1 ở bên cạnh và đừng chạm phần sau
Số 6 ở trên đỉnh và đừng cắt nó hết, Jack
Cạo phần bên, đừng cham phần sau”

Đúng vậy, bài hát đã miêu tả rõ ràng về kiểu tóc mullet này (Cạo phần bên, nuôi dài phần sau..) nhưng nó không phải là tất cả. Kiểu tóc Mullet đã được khá nhiều dân tộc trên toàn thế giới để, bao gồm những người Assyria, người Lưỡng hà và cả Native American, Iceland (Người da đỏ, Mỹ bản địa). Lí do họ để mái tóc này chính là vì họ muốn một kiểu tóc có thể bảo vệ được phần gáy và giữ ấm nó – trong môi trường khắc nghiệt, lạnh và khô ở bên ngoài. Nên nhớ rằng, mái tóc cũng là một phần lông của cơ thể con người – để bảo vệ phần đầu khỏi các yếu tố ngoại vi như mưa, nắng, gió vv.vv. Trải qua quá trình tiến hóa thì mái tóc mới trở thành thứ để làm đẹp như ngày nay.

Một số tên khác của Mullet

(Mullet trước khi biết tới là 1 kiểu tóc thì người ta thường sử dụng nó cho 1 loài cá (Trích hay đối mình không rõ lắm – nhưng thuộc họ Mugilidae)
Khá hài hước rằng, cái tên Moi lại có vẻ đúng trong trường hợp này. Kiểu tóc này đã được biên nhận rằng từng nổi tiếng tại Pháp khi một người làm thời trang tên là Henri Mollet để vào những thế kỉ thứ 17. Ngay lập tức – nó đã trở thành một kiểu tóc xu hướng của những dân chơi ở Pháp vào khoảng thời gian đó với cái tên “ Mollet’hair” / “Mái tóc của Mollet – Mái tóc của Moi-lẹt”
Như mình đã đề cập. mái tóc này đã phổ biến rất lâu ở toàn thế giới. Mà tùy thuộc vào mỗi vùng mà người ta có một cách tên gọi khác nhau. “Kentucky Waterfall” – “Mississippi Top Hat”- “Bouncing Cobra” , điều đáng chủ ý là dựa vào kiểu tóc mà có những cái tên tương tự như Thác nước Kentucky, bạn có thể thấy sự tương đồng giữa phần trên ngắn và phần sau dài như một thác nước đổ xuống không. Hay con rắn hổ mang, khi nó đứng thẳng – phần đuôi của mullet sẽ trông khá giống con mãng xã. Cụm từ Mullet ở Đức còn rõ ràng hơn với từ “Vokuhila” (Vorne Kurz, ngắn ở phía trước – dài ở phía sau)..

Vậy – điều chúng ta rút ra được là, Mullet là một kiểu tóc đã có biên niên sử khá là lâu đời

Mullet cứ tiếp tục sống ẩn sống dật cho tới giai đoạn thập niên 80s – 90s là thời kì hoàng kim của Mullet. Được đi kèm với hình ảnh phong trần, nay đây mai đó như những kẻ du mục – dầm mưa dãi nắng, kiểu tóc mullet thịnh hành với những cái tên nổi tiếng như Billy Ray Cyrus, Rod Stewart và được biết nhiều nhất tại thời điểm hiện tại là David Bowie (với Ziggy Stardust), mái tóc đỏ cam đầy khó chịu của Bowie đã trở thành một biểu tượng mullet còn hiện diện tới ngày hôm nay. Nhưng với punk/rock/country, chúng ta còn có cả một band nhạc khác cũng đình đám không kém – đó là The Beatles với mullet của Paul McCartney. Ngay lập tức, văn hóa – âm nhạc – những buổi tụ tập đã trở thành một chất xúc tác đầy chất nghiện với những người trẻ của toàn thế giới lúc đó. Họ đam mê mullet, những cậu trai trẻ bắt đầu trước – sau đó là những cô gái cá tính mạnh. Mullet bùng phát nhanh tới mức, nó có lan tới những người ở độ tuổi lớn hơn (trên 30 tuổi). Bằng chứng là các bạn có thể xem những bộ phim, những hình ảnh tài liệu về giai đoạn đó – không ít người trung niên để mái tóc mullet này đâu. Vậy – “Mullet” từ một khái niệm đầy trẻ trâu, đầy Moi thì được công chúng công nhận và trở thành một khái niệm rộng rãi.

Không chỉ âm nhạc, như 1 biểu tượng của pop-culture. Làn song văn hóa đương đại đưa Mullet đi khắp mọi nơi, từ phim ảnh (Có Brad Pitt) này, Lionel Richie (Cha tổ của cái câu Chào em, anh đây – Hello, is it me you’re looking for?) tới Rambo (Oh my boy). Đến thể thao, Diego Maradona cũng để kiểu mullet hay tiêu biểu hơn là thần thoại của đội bóng thiên thanh Roberto Baggio. Rất rất nhiều hình ảnh.
Mullet hiện đại

Giống như bao xu hướng khác, thì mullet cũng có điểm lên và điểm xuống. Thời trang/Xu hướng luôn là một vòng tròn đầy ngớ ngẩn và nó luôn tìm cách trở lại. Và một khi nó đã là một khái niệm rõ ràng thì việc người ta sử dụng nó,cắt nó hay mặc nó tại thời điểm nào là tùy thuộc vào sở thích. Mullet cũng thế, hiện tại chắc có mấy chục cách để mullet khác nhau (Up tô, Curly Hawk.. nhưng vẫn bám sát khởi nguồn là để phần trước, không cắt phần sau). Có rất nhiều sao để mullet, gần gũi chúng ta thì có G-dragon này, Mino hay những idols Hàn Quốc – tiếp theo là các sao US-UK.

【2020多倫多影展 完整片單公布】

第 45 屆 #多倫多影展（#TIFF）日前公布本屆官方片單，除了喜見台灣電影《#逃出立法院》入選，整體片單也不乏亮點。

受疫情影響，本屆多倫多影展的規模縮編為放映 50 部作品（往年皆放映約 300 部電影）。這些作品中有高達 46% 為女性執導作品（去年 36%），整體片單的類型/地區/族裔/原住民族代表性也非常多元（包含11部紀錄片和3部影集作品），這正是多倫多影展引以為傲的特色之一。

本屆開幕片為史派克李（Spike Lee）於百老匯執導拍攝的舞台劇作品——“David Byrne’s American Utopia"，閉幕則是 BBC 與 Netflix 共同出品、由印度裔導演 Mira Nair 執導的六集迷你劇集 “A Suitable Boy”。今年片單中也可看到三位知名演員「演而優則導」的首部執導作品，包含荷莉貝瑞、維果莫天森，與瑞吉納金。

往年各影展都會互相競爭各電影的全球首映，然而在今年各影展縮編或取消、電影製作阻礙重重的狀態下，便會看到許多影展重複選片的狀況。多倫多影展就選入了不少今年坎城影展的片子（這部分比威尼斯大方的多），像是河瀨直美的《朝が来る》、歐容的 "Summer of 85"，以及再度集結《謊言的烙印》導演 Thomas Vinterberg 和男星麥斯米克森（Mads Mikkelsen）的 “Another Round" 等。

而《春光之境》導演 Francis Lee 的新片 “Ammonite" 也同時入選坎城和多倫多。該片由瑟夏羅南與凱特溫絲蕾聯合演出一齣令人醉心的女女之戀，被多倫多影展的藝術總監譽為是他所看過「凱特溫絲蕾最傑出的表演」。凱特同時也獲選為本屆多倫多影展傑出演員特別獎得主（TIFF Tribute Actor Award）。

另一方面，與威尼斯影展重疊的片則包含由王晶執導、賈樟柯監製的《不止不休》、由趙婷執導、法蘭西絲麥朵曼主演的 "Nomadland"、《忠犬追殺令》匈牙利導演 Kornél Mundruczó 的第一部英語長片 "Pieces of a Woman" （凡內莎克比＆西亞李畢福主演）等。

本屆多倫多影展將於 9/10-19 舉行。囿於加拿大邊境管制，今年大部分的實體活動皆取消，包含紅毯首映會等影人出席活動。除了少數幾場開放給當地影迷的汽車電影院放映會和其他採取安全措施的實體活動之外，其他的放映場次、記者會、映後座談等都會在線上舉行。

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Over the long weekend I found some time to do a mashup of Charlie Puth featuring Selena Gomez's "We Don't Talk Anymore" and Boyz ii Men's "Water Runs Dry"! Both very fun songs to sing! Very honored I had the pleasure of working with these 2 really talented dudes ARI and Leon Kyson Lee, both who took part in the Sing! China and Voice of China singing competitions, respectively. We love what we came up with, hope you guys like it too!
