【我們的音樂劇Reimagined】
去年10月，我們為大家帶來香港原創音樂劇音樂會《我們的音樂劇》，重溫香港本地精彩音樂劇作。

今年4月，我們在劇場再次獻上《我們的音樂劇Reimagined》，除了精選首演的部分作品，亦會加入新選曲目，讓觀眾有似曾相識又耳目一新的感覺。8位演唱俱佳的劇場猛將和新星，聯同香港小交響樂團，與觀眾再次携手走過香港音樂劇之路。

【The Originals – Reimagined】
In October 2020, we brought you “The Originals – Hong Kong Musicals in Concert”, a performance reviving a collage of Hong Kong’s musical classics.

Coming April, we’ll present The Originals (Reimagined), reprising some of the works from last year’s premiere and also new selections for a new twist. With the cast of eight accomplished singer-actors comprising established favourites and new talent and accompanied by the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, we invite you all to walk through a journey of the history of Hong Kong Musicals.

See you on 16 – 18 April at Grand Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre.

#就係香港實習同學BackstageStory #Tobie篇

走進店舖，往往如走馬看花，視線輕率滑過四周，步履只作日常所需的短暫停留。但當我認真凝視每個空間角落，便意識到背後歷史的重量。當為土瓜灣的蝦記麵店和永香冰室做資料搜集的時候，我本著好奇心仔細觀察店舖每一細節。一幅畫，一件裝飾品，不只因著美觀原因而懸在牆上，內裡還藏著一個個等待被發掘的故事，它們正是空間裡有形的歷史。

當記憶隨時間變質，實體空間的經歷便是通往過去的最佳門徑。但唯有藉著現場互動，才能將過去記憶活現眼前，這是對著電腦搜尋網上資料無可比擬的連結。透過這張拼貼，我希望能保存在兩間老店經歷轉眼即逝的瞬間，凝住內裡的故事與記憶，並將之展現人前。但願在傢俬與鋪面招牌磨損裡透現出來的一份人情世故，將來亦繼續有人珍惜、關注。

*永香冰室於1959年開業，在永耀街一隅見證了土瓜灣半世紀變遷。經典劇集《大時代》及近年得獎電影《踏血尋梅》等影視作品，曾在此取景。

*蝦記麵廠，另一土瓜灣半百老字號，以新鮮手工製蝦子麵聞名。店舖至今仍保留前鋪後廠的格局。

We often dismiss or glance over interiors of shops and cafes. They become brisk stops where we do our weekly shop and nothing more, but having to inspect and analyse each facet of a space has led me to realise the depth and historical significance these old stores hold. When doing research for Har Kee Noodle and Wing Heung Cafe, I was encouraged to perceive each and every aspect inquisitively. Each photograph on the wall, each piece of decor perhaps wasn’t only there for mere aesthetic intention. Behind each aspect was a story to tell, one which represents a tangible history of the space. With perishable memories and the temporal notion of emotion, I found that connecting with the physical space was the best way to engage with the past. Researching online was one thing, but having this information set against the backdrop of where it all happened brought these memories to life. And by creating a collage, I wanted to highlight the preservation of a fleeting moment, memory encased and stories retold in these physical spaces. The wear and tear of furniture and iconic shopfront signs held a sense of sentimentality which I hope others will be more wary of in the future.

📽鮮有機會放映的《#人之二》是揚．萊尼卡的首部長片，電影花了三年半時間製作，是1965年的短片《A》之續篇，《A》的主角被人一樣大的A字纏擾，《#人之二》則以樸素的線條和剪影呈現無言的主角在荒誕威權社會中的煉獄人生。

📽美國前衛電影人布力奇治的16米厘短片呈現嬰兒踏入人世的第一步，由子宮內腥紅的影像出發，再來扭曲的幻影與成年世界，最後以小孩餵食嬰兒來標誌新生代進入了社會網絡。《#童年前的意象》四部曲中最為人知的第一章回應拉康的鏡像場景理論，示範了實驗電影探索人類意識的本領。

📽香港漫畫家江記的《離騷幻覺》結合科幻、歷史等等混雜的元素，寫出一首給我城與未來的情書。〈泪羅篇〉及〈剌秦篇〉兩部短片是正在製作的長篇之先導，濃烈的霓虹色彩滲透慾望與毀滅，無邊夢魘一如現今世相的迴響。
導演廖沛毅用褪色的16米厘菲林拍攝的《港口城市》把兩段晃動影像合而為一，35米厘的新作《墜落拱門》則用機槍般的蒙太奇呈現作者對香港、倫敦及紐約的記憶，既是實驗影像，也探索影像與身份之間的關係。

📽 "Adam 2" is Jan Lenica's first feature-length animation, it is a follow-up of sorts to his 1965 ten-minute short "A" - in which a man finds himself harassed at home by a human-size version of the capital letter A. This rarely aired film is a jet-black collage of drawings and cut-outs which tracks a man's wordless passage through his absurd, purgatorial existence in an absurd, authoritarian world.

📽 American avant-gardist Stan Brakhage's 16mm short reveals the shock and awe of a disoriented infant make the first step into the human realm. This is a more well-known chapter in a four-part series, also a vivid example of the ability of experimental cinema to broach a consciousness beyond popular understanding, and offers a transatlantic response to Jacques Lacan's "mirror stage" theories.

📽 "Dragon’s Delusion" is Hong Kong comics artist Kongkee's highly ambitious riff on Chinese history, cyborg theory and possibly quite a few things falling in between. These shorts billed as the first two episodes of the Dragon’s Delusion feature film, Kongkee and his crew produced a feverish nightmare which somehow resonates with the state we are living in.
New York-based British-Chinese Simon Liu delivers abstract yet highly dynamic pieces evoking urban landscapes which shaped and nurtured him. Liu's films are as much about experimentalism as it is about an examination of the relationship between images and identities.
