It’s been toooo wonderful this time in Japan, I can’t believe it took me 21 years to come back to this amazing place.
Just played my last gig of this trip at そるとぴーなつ in 江古田 with Masanori さん.
Masanori Okazaki さん: I really can’t thank you enough for all your time spent for arranging all the gigs. I deeply appreciate it. Thank you, thank you and ありがとうございました!!!(is past tense here correct?) 🙈
There’re many other great moments that I haven’t had time to share, hopefully I will share more soon.
Got back to hotel now, ready to turn on my computer and start to do other work...

Question 1 : The Differences
a) Talking about tasks & duties:
Appoint vs Assign vs Designate
b) Well equipped vs Well appointed
c) Peculiar vs Weird vs Campy
Question 2 : The usage of Past Simple Tense
I've read lots of sentences in past simple tense where the overall dialogue or article is in the present tense. For example:
"[Did] you know that aquariums are not a recent invention"
"I [was wondering/I wondered] if you could come and see me sometime next week."
"Hey girls! Just [wanted] to share this suicide hotline list on here in case you or someone you know should ever need it"
"I [wanted] to ask if you know whether...."
Verbs (whether auxiliary or not, wanted, was wondering or wondered) in past tense is used in the above examples. Is it because the tone of past simple make them sound softer or more diplomatic? It's been confusing and I haven't been able to find the answer to this. Could you please help make it clear for me? I kind of feel that using past simple tense appropriately indicates the natural speaking ability
