Blighted wheat soup to replenish deficiency and prevent sweating
When we panic, our palms tend to sweat easily due to the activation of our nervous system. Even though it is a normal biological reaction, we have to start monitoring our body if we have excessively sweaty palms for extended periods.
Excessive moisture loss from the body can weaken the body. Sweaty palms and unpleasant body odor can also affect our social life and cause skin diseases such as dyshidrosis.
Individuals with different body constitutions can develop sweaty palms. Individuals who are qi-deficient will develop the accompanying symptoms such as pale complexion, dizziness, teeth mark on the tongue, weak speaking voice, prone to catching a cold, regular abdominal bloating, frequent urination, and need to use a lot of strength to pass motion, even though the stools are loose.
Qi-deficient individuals should focus on strengthening their spleen and nourish their qi. Drink rice water and consume an adequate amount of Chinese yam, white hyacinth bean, coix seed, ginseng, millet, potato, and red date that can help nourish the qi and strengthen the spleen. We can also add blighted wheat into our soup, as this particular ingredient can reduce sweating. It is also good for the qi, can calm our mind, and clear the heat from our body.
Tips on ingredient:
Astragalus root is warm in nature. It can improve deficiencies, nourish qi, strengthen the heart and protect the liver. Suitable for those with qi and blood deficiency, prone to cold/flu, asthenic spleen and diarrhea. Those with yin deficiency with excess fire, qi stagnation and abdominal bloating should not eat.

Why does our skin itch?
The itch caused by eczema, rubella, sensitive skin and even acne can be unbearable, and very often, we cannot resist the urge from scratching it. Sometimes, compulsive scratching can even cause bleeding. We might have controlled our diet and avoided certain food, but why does our skin still itch?
Other than the food we eat, have we also paid attention to the beverages we drink? From the perspective of Chinese Medicine, eczema and sensitive skin are closely associated with the weakness of the spleen. The coffee and milk tea Hong Kong citizens enjoy can further exacerbate the condition. If we want to avoid feeling itchy from time to time, we have to be mindful of the beverages we take as well.
Drinks that might easily cause sensitive skin to itch:
☠️ Coffee – warm in nature and has a diuretic effect. Excessive consumption of coffee can damage the yin and dehydrate the skin, causing our skin to itch.
☠️ Milk tea – red tea is warm in nature, whereas milk is thick in nature and has a high satiety effect; can affect the digestive functions of the spleen and stomach. Dampness will then stagnate, causing the body to have excess heat. This will then exacerbate the itching on the skin.
☠️ Milk – has nourishing properties; the spleen and stomach of people with dampness in the body will have to work extra hard if these individuals consume milk. Inevitably, dampness would continue to stagnate in the body, worsening the existing skin problem.
☠️ Beer – warm in nature, can dispel cold and invigorate the blood. Please note that drinking beer does not dissipate the heat. On the contrary, it might cause dampness to accumulate in the body. Drinking it cold can cause the itch to become more severe.
☠️Cold beverages – any cold drinks that are below the room temperature are raw and cold food. Consuming raw and cold food can induce phlegm and dampness, hence, weakening the spleen and causing dampness to stagnate in the body. This is how itchy skin becomes a never-ending problem.

Recipe at: http://www.themeatmen.sg/soy-milk-miso-hot-pot
Soy Milk Hot Pot (also known as Tonyu Nabe 豆浆乳鍋 in Japanese) is a popular dish in Japan, and is served in many places in Japan. Rainy weather these days? No problem - a nice hot pot is what you might need!
The recipe is remarkably easy. We used stuff like pork broth, soy sauce, cooking sake and mirin. Next we stirred in the new Nutrisoy no sugar added fresh soy milk, and brought it to a boil! We used the no sugar added variant as it was very apt to use a sugarless soy milk for a healthy recipe such as this. It also helps as excessive sugar gives rise to obesity, diabetes and many other health problems, so why take the excess sugar when you can avoid it!
For the toppings, we put greens like leeks, daikon, and cabbage in the bottom layer first, then seafood and meat on top. Add the soy miso broth you just made, and in 10 minutes you’ll be ready to serve. This is a dish best served with family and friends, so enjoy your hot pot party. :-)

Sugar is not your friend. Excess sugar in food is the most dangerous health. If you've decided to cut sugars out of your diet, you're on the fast track to better health. Added sugars are blamed in part for the obesity epidemic, and they could increase your risk of death from cardiovascular disease. But going sugar-free is tricky; foods you wouldn't think contain sugar do, and some healthy foods such as fruit contain natural sugars. Learning which foods you can and can't have on your sugar-free diet is half the battle -- then you have to actually stick to it.

"Refined, or processed sugar, is stripped of all of its natural nutrients, leaving you with empty calories that make it easy to pack on extra weight," says nutrition and fitness expert Dr. Pamela Peeke, author of The New York Times Bestseller "The Hunger Fix." "When the weight is deposited deep in our bellies, a common occurrence after the age of 50, you increase the risk for heart disease and cancer." Refined sugar also increases insulin levels and contributes to insulin resistance which leads to diabetes, says Dr. Peeke. As if that isn't enough to put a hold on the sweet stuff, refined sugar can also cause your cells to age more quickly and lead to excessive inflammation, which increases your risk for many diseases.
