หลังจากที่ Avalanche Software ประกาศเปิดตัวเกม Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy ในเดือนกันยายนที่ผ่านมานั้นก็มีข่าวลือออกมามากมายเกี่ยวกับระบบ Multiplayer ของตัวเกมที่สามารถให้ผู้เล่นร่วมมือกันกับผู้เล่นคนอื่นผจญภัยไปในโลกแห่งเวทย์มนต์ในโรงเรียน Hogwarts

โดยข่าวลือนี้ก็ได้ถูกปฎิเสธแล้วโดยตรงผ่านทางเว็บไซต์ Avalanche Software เองเลยในหัวข้อ FAQs โดยได้ให้นิยามของเกมนี้ไว้ว่า “open-world, single-player, action role-playing videogame set in the 1800s wizarding world.” จะเห็นได้ว่าเป็นการบอกอย่างเป็นชัดเจนแล้วว่าคือเกม Single Player

แต่แน่นอนว่าเกม Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy ยังอยู่ในขั้นตอนของการพัฒนาเกม และทาง Avalanche Software ก็ยังไม่ได้เปิดเผยรายละเอียดออกมาเกี่ยวกับเกมนี้มากเท่าไหร่ด้วย โดยอาจจะมีการเพิ่มระบบ Multiplayer เข้ามาภายหลังในรูปแบบ Mini Game ก็เป็นได้
