Now, an international team of scientists drawn from the fields of archaeology, anthropology, seismology, and geology have gathered disparate evidence from ancient texts, sedimentary deposits, earthquake-triggered landslides, and skeletons in collapsed cave dwellings to craft a scenario presented this week in Science that they claim supports the legend of a great flood and hints that the Xia dynasty might be real. If the findings hold up, they could lend credence to early historical texts and help resolve a long-running debate over the origins of China and its people.

On Apr. 25th of 2015, Nepal encountered a massive and devastating earthquake which caused thousands of human casualties and destroyed many home, schools, historical and cultural monuments. The country was in the midst of chaos and difficult times but people also witnessed acts of kindness and humanity. When we put our effort to help the earthquake victims, we received support from everywhere. People of different races and nations, no matter the differences in language or belief, had kindly and generously supported us. Therefore we were able to distribute
emergency relief materials including medical supplies, food, tents and other materials to the earthquake victims. We were able to help them during the most dangerous and critical moments.
Today marks the first anniversary of the devastating earthquake. But we can not stop our relief mission just on food, clothes and medical aids. We have to do something more than just providing relief material to these people. We have to consider on making the victims capable of helping themselves.
Therefore H.E. Bhumang Rinpoche and Ven. Lama Thinley Dorje have worked together to establish "STEPS TO KINDNESS FOUNDATION" where the first priority is providing free education to the underprivileged, orphans and also children in the remote area where the quake had destroyed almost everything. We believe that only education can enhance the ideas, knowledge and skills in
order to make people stand up again for themselves without depending on others.
Education can bring light in the life of people and our effort to educate these children can brighten their life in the future. In Nepal, only few foundations prioritise in life for future. Education is a
long-term mission and the "STEPS TO KINDNESS FOUNDATION" helps people via education, bringing solid hope to the people and the power of knowledge to pass on to the future generations.

Be Prepared for Adversity In Time of Peace (English version below)

Where is the safest place? Let me tell you. There is no place safe on this Earth. Be it natural disasters, or man-made adversities, no matter where you run and how you hide, a bomb dropped from the sky will reduce centuries-old historical sites and a luxurious bungalow to rubble. This is the true reality of this human realm. You may think that it is cruel, but I suggest you prepare for adversity in times of peace.
Let us not look too far back in time, but instead observe recent happenings. There is the Nepal Earthquake, the capsized ferry Star of the East, in Hubei, China, the Sabah Earthquake at Mount Kinabalu, and many other unreported events around the world. These disasters struck in a flash, and serve to remind us that we should all be prepared for adversity even in times of peace and prosperity!
Initially I did not believe in concept of recycling. One day, I contemplated on this and realized that recycling is necessary after all. Humans waste huge amount of resources, generating mountains of rubbish that end up being burned or dumped into the ocean. All these acts will lead to the detriment of our Planet Earth, reducing her lifespan. This will not do anyone any good. In order to ensure our survival, we should join our hands to recycle, reduce and reuse, and minimize our damage to the ecosystem of Earth. Please do not forget that the ecosystem is the very source of our human survival!
We should adopt the same attitude in preparing for adversity in times of peace to our homes too. When you buy a house and spend a huge amount of money for renovation, it does not guarantee everlasting prosperity and peace. There are eight trigram positions in the house, and coupled with the many "Chi" (energy) outlets, are exposed to the various effects of the flying stars movement every hour of the day, month and year. The prosperity of your family, your career, your health, your wealth and investment etc, may be exposed to huge risk just because you wrongly place some object unknowingly somewhere in your house.
Please prepare for adversity in times of peace. The wise one who understand this principle will be the eventual winner!

<鉄人28号Tetsujin Nijūhachi-gō>
The Kobe Tetsujin Project was started to create a giant 18 meter tall Tetsujin 28 in Nada-ward to give strength and hope to the people of Kobe after surviving the 1995 earthquake. Mitsuteru Yokoyama, the artist that created the manga "Tetsujin 28", was born and lived in Kobe. All Japanese, young and old love to visit this monument, play around his feet, and enjoy being in the presence of this historical character. Gao!

I have been in Japan now for a bit over 20 years. My interest in Japan started with Origami when I was 5 years old and after coming here in High School, I just could not stop coming back. I have enjoyed traveling all over Japan and studying many of the traditional arts such as Kimono, Tea Ceremony, Kendo and Kyudo. The more I see and learn the more I come to understand how much more there is to find out about. Japan really is a wonderful place to visit or live. I hope these videos give a taste of what one can do here, encourage those that have yet to visit, and give new ideas for people looking to try something new and interesting here. Yokoso!
