Here's to some of the best meals we've had in Turkey and quite possibly our lives, starting with the lightly battered anchovies and Kokorec made fresh from one of the stalls at Kadikoy Market in Istanbul. This Kokorec consisted of lamb intestines which is wrapped around offal and absolutely packed with explosive spices, they grill it on the spit so it has this wonderful crisp and juicy consistency. With the bread you sup up all the organ fat and pop that warm bite in your mouth, it's truly a food-gasmic dish for the carnivor inside of you. The anchovies are just about the best thing we've paired with beer too, so fresh and delicious. Do it the Turkish way and wrap the anchovies in the leaves with red onion then a squirt of lemon and you're on your way to aperitif heaven. @ Kadıkoy, Aydin, Turkey
