=【play it by ear】是什麼意思呢？=

Play it by ear 是一個在對話或影片中會聽到的慣用語，字面上的意思是「#經由耳朵來玩」, 但真的是這個意思或翻譯嗎？當有朋友說 Let's play it by ear 時，你可別回答「怎麼玩？」喔! :)

那到底 play it by ear 是什麼意思呢？

其實 play it by ear 真正的意思還蠻好記的，怎麼說呢？首先，play it 的 play 是「#演奏」樂器的動詞，例如 play the piano, play the guitar，而 by ear 是「#經由耳朵」, 所以是「#用耳朵聽了之後再來演奏」， 其實就是「#耳朵聽到什麼再來演奏什麼」的意思，本來是指那些會彈鋼琴或演奏某種樂器但是卻沒有經過專業訓練的人們, 他們僅憑之前聽過的印象，不需要看譜就能演奏。後來引申為「#到時候再說；#見機行事; #順其自然」的意思, 另一個類似的慣用語是 go with the flow.
