Learning and sharing about #ConversationaAI with #Cognigy and friends from various levels of #Australia government in a webinar this morning -- #NLP beyond #chatbot with #multilingualism. Whoever said speaking to a human is better? Maybe not anymore!
One interesting observation: people who use Alexa or Google Assistant are actually trained to get used to conversational AI. No wonder, we don't have those in Hong Kong and we can't even download the Alexa app from App Store 🤷🏻♀️

I am so excited to talk to the wonderful Lina Vasquez today! Lina and I realised we have a lot in common - growing up internationally and questioning who we really are in a world full of cultures and languages. We talk about blending into a new culture, vulnerability, multilingual meditation, struggling to express yourself in a language and much more. She shares her language stories and we open up about how our view of languages and life has changed over the years.
We also did a video for her channel which you can watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fst3Uss9pRE&t=770s

I did a crazy challenge where I spent 24 hours learning Korean and then trying to talk to random Korean strangers in New York City’s Koreatown. This was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done for sure, but the results totally blew me away. Even though it was actually only about 12 hours of study time I ended up learning a lot!
If you’re learning Korean (or any other language) I think this method of language learning is actually really effective. Learn lots of sentences in your target language, record and imitate pronunciation as closely as possible, and then practice practice practice. Good luck!
