煙民容易感染武漢新沙士
美國學者發表的研究論文說，最近，研究發現2019年新冠狀病毒和沙士冠狀病毒有相同受體ACE2。這次研究，我們分析正常肺組織的4大規模資料組調查ACE2 基因表達相對種族、性別及吸煙情況的差異。在種族組別(亞洲人對比白人) 、年齡組別 (>60 vs <60)、及性別組別(男性相對女性)都沒有發現ACE2 基因表達的實質差異。可是，我們發現吸煙者樣本的ACE2基本表達實質地高過非吸煙者樣本。這顯示吸煙者更容易感染2019年新冠狀病毒，因此，識別容易感染人口及制訂標準治療方法時要考慮吸煙歷史。
Recently, studies found that 2019-nCov and SARS-nCov share the same receptor, ACE2. In this study, we analyzed four large-scale datasets of normal lung tissue to investigate the disparities related to race, age, gender and smoking status in ACE2 gene expression. No significant disparities in ACE2 gene expression were found between racial groups (Asian vs Caucasian), age groups (>60 vs <60) or gender groups (male vs female). However, we observed significantly higher ACE2 gene expression in smoker samples compared to non-smoker samples. This indicates the smokers may be more susceptible to 2019-nCov and thus smoking history should be considered in identifying susceptible population and standardizing treatment regimen.

Reposted from @babeandbeauty (@get_regrann) - A. I am going to step on my soapbox for this one. By now, we all know how terrible smoking is for our entire body as well as it can lead to cancer. None the less, people still do it or “only when I drink.” In the treatment room, it's very obvious if a client is a smoker or not by the looks of their skin. I can even tell if a client is right/left-handed by the pattern of blackheads and wrinkles that is more prominent on one side of their face.

How does smoke affect the skin?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When tobacco is heated it releases free radicals that damage the DNA of skin cells. This results in collagen and elastin being broken down. It also constricts blood vessels which deplete the skin of much-needed oxygen, vitamins and nutrients. When that puff of toxic smoke is exhaled it hits the skin on the face and can cause blackheads particularly around the mouth/cheek areas. Over time this leads to accelerated aging, dehydration, dark circles, broken blood vessels and an overall gray dull-looking complexion. Studies also indicate that smokers heal slower than non-smokers. So that means when you do get a pimple it can take longer to heal which can lead to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Lastly, puckering your mouth to take a drag also leads to wrinkles around the lips.

What about cannabis smoke?

As an advocate of cannabis and user myself, I wish I could say it’s not the same as cigarette smoke. Unfortunately, burning plant matter of any kind still negatively affects the skin as stated above. I know this is not what you (or I) want to hear! The good news is you can eat cannabis, ingest it in a tincture, rub it on or smoke it in a vaporizer for a less skin damaging effect. 💚

Kenapa anda tidak pernah memprotes?

5. Apakah MSCSPGA, PRESMA & PRISMA hanya menganggap perokok sahaja mempunyai hak dan pelanggan manakala kami yang non-smoker ini tiada hak dan bukannya pelanggan?

6. Jikalau mahu berkompromi tanpa menafikan hak mana-mana pihak, maka saya cadangkan;

a) Sediakan bilik khas untuk perokok merokok dan bukannya bilik khas makan untuk perokok
.
b) Pihak restoran bertanggungjawab memastikan para perokok tidak merokok di luar bilik merokok dan bahagian lain restoran terutamanya bilik air bebas rokok.

c) Demi menjaga hak non-smoker, pihak restoran perlu menghalang atau menghalau mana-mana pelanggan yang merokok di luar bilik merokok.
.
d) Pihak restoran juga perlu sediakan fog machine yang boleh digunakan oleh pelanggan non-smoker apabila terdapat pelanggan perokok yang degil merokok di luar bilik merokok agar fog machine boleh dihalakan kepada para perokok.
.
e) Diminta pihak restoran juga sediakan fire extinguisher agar boleh digunakan oleh pelanggan non smoker andai pelanggan perokok tidak mematuhi larangan.
.
Itu sekadar pandangan saya secara peribadi. Bagaimana pula pandangan sahabat semua baik yang smoker dan non-smoker? Jaga tutur bahasa kita ya dalam bertukar-tukar pandangan.
