這篇來自BBC上的精彩文章,分享了醫學領域的最新研究,介紹了為何運動員不怕冷?以及運動機制對於抗寒冷的效果。這也讓我們進一步思考在不同地域與氣候條件下的人,又有哪些不同的生理特質?

一些職業運動員會在運動後進行冰浴來恢復體力。任何想在冬天保持健康的人都知道,寒冷的天氣可以讓人恢復活力。
運動效能在寒冷天氣中下降的原因有點複雜,主要是因為我們對寒冷的耐受性取決於基因、皮下脂肪水平和體型。一種說法是,當身體降溫時,肌肉細胞釋放能量的速度會降低。
但在寒冷天氣裏鍛煉也有助改善心臟健康,增強免疫系統,並將白色脂肪細胞轉化為褐色脂肪細胞,有助減輕體重。因此,如果操作安全,可以帶來不錯的健康益處。

Inflammation is the broad term for the body’s immune response to harmful stimuli (such as pathogens or irritants) or physical damage damage.
