𝕀𝕥’𝕤 𝕒 ℙ𝕒𝕟𝕔𝕒𝕜𝕖 𝔻𝕒𝕪 🥞
呢個ℙ𝕒𝕟𝕔𝕒𝕜𝕖 𝔻𝕒𝕪每年都會唔同，因為響復活節前四十日係 #四旬節（Lent)，係呢段期間虔誠嘅基督徒會進行齋戒，
而且呢四十日為咗驚啲食物變壞，以前就會將唔可以擺放太耐嘅雞蛋同麵粉製作成Pancake ，希望盡量用哂啲材料。
響 #英國 一啲小鎮仲會有Pancake Race,拎住個pan一路拋pancake一路跑步🏃♀️
都係因為呢排同大公主睇得多Paddington Bear，又學識咗一個新嘅節日😊
呢個節日可能未必好多人知，不如大家今日都食份Pancake 應下節啦😉

Race conditions were tougher than I expected but still a PB day and I’ll take it! And I’m also happy that I made it out here, after missing out on Colombo 70.3 because I was ill.

I heard that Ironman 70.3 Taiwan was a relatively “easy” race because it’s a wetsuit swim, the bike course is flat and the weather is cooling. After completing it today, I say LIESSSSS. HAHAHAHA!

My wetsuit swim in the freshwater manmade lake was quite slow and I got out of the water feeling bummed about my time, but I decided not to dwell on that and just focus on the next 2 legs.

The path to the transition area was soooooo long omg. It was about 700m to get in (not including the distance to your bike so it depends on where you are) and the transition area is very long/big too. I was like, omg I just wanna get to my bike can!

Bike course isn’t pancake flat. There are nice long stretches on the highway yes, but it does go up and down (similar to Mandai?) and there’s a pretty big climb up south, which you have to do twice (both ways). Headwind was quite bad in some places, but that also means we got some decent tailwind here and there.

And it wasn’t thaaat cooling. It was pretty sunny today! Ok it isn’t as hot or humid as Danang or Cebu, but enough to heat you up some. I also don’t like running loops but the 3 loops we had to do in the forest park was quite alright, with a little bit of gentle slopes.

I came in 6th in my age group (missed 5th place by 45s) out of 45 people, so I think that’s pretty decent la. Plus I got a trophy leh. No slot to the 70.3 world champs sadly! (The 35-39 AG rolled down to 31st! Urghhhhh)

[搞清楚英倫節慶]
煎餅日又要到了，復活節前47天，又叫做懺悔週二，今年是二月13日。這天把蛋奶糖和麵粉做成餅、愛吃的餡料放上去吃個飽，隔天週三起就進入齋戒期了，以簡單的物質生活作為向耶穌受難致敬。但這已經是過去的事了，現在守齋的人很少，也改用戒除某種癮頭（例如戒咖啡、戒臉書...😳）來取代過去的戒除美食。
現在的煎餅日（前後週末）有些有趣的煎餅賽跑活動，在國會大廈旁的上下議會煎餅接力賽（看議員胡鬧指控對方作弊🤣），和倫敦城（city of London) 各式同業公會煎餅賽跑（看趣味造型服裝和中世紀傳下的制服😎）是我最喜歡的兩個選擇。

上哪兒吃英國煎餅呢？這個比較尷尬，這種每個英國媽媽都會做的小點心，外面沒有市場。餐廳賣的是美式煎餅、路邊賣的是法式煎餅（可麗餅)，我覺得荷蘭煎餅店買的口感感覺差不多，尺寸縮小一半就對了。有煎餅賽跑活動時旁邊可能有兼賣。最簡單的美味是糖＋檸檬😍！
Going out for okonomiyaki - a kind of Japanese pancake / pizza that you cook yourself at the table!
I had vegetarian okonomiyaki, with mochi race cake and cheese, and Phil had beef and spring onion. The batter's made of flour and stock, as well as shredded cabbage and noodles.
Okonomiyaki's one of my favourite types of Japanese food, but you don't find it in many Japanese restuarants in the UK. Usually I make it myself at ohme, so it was a treat to have it in Tokyo!
This restaurant is on the top floor of MyLord department store in Shinjuku, Tokyo (what a great name for a department store!).
Sorry about the blurriness in some places - just got a new camera so the focussing will be less hit and miss on my newer videos!
