MISS WORLD 2018 FINAL SASH PICKS |
It is getting more and more unpredictable year by year but we are certainly up to the challenge.
A new Miss World will be crowned tomorrow night. Judging from all the preliminary events and activities combined with our observation from results of past editions, #SashFactor is now ready to reveal its top choices to wear the blue crown this year.
Leading the pack is #Miss France, Maeva Coucke, whom we feel can bring home the crown back to her country after more than 60 years. Tall, elegant and striking, the signs are there for her to finally bag the title. She won the Top Model preliminary event. She has shown so much progress since winning her national crown last March.
#Mexico and #Nepal are also very much in contention for the title. We feel Mexico’s Vanessa Ponce is also ahead of the pack with her striking beauty and personality. She also has never as well. Mexico has never won the blue title and it has been coming close these past few years. We surely wouldn’t mind seeing it tomorrow night. Nepal’s Shrinkhala Khatiwada is also another stunner to watch out tomorrow night. This woman may have started slow at the onset but has grown leaps and bounds during this year’s competition. Having won both the crucial Beauty With A Purpose And Multimedia fast track events, it is very clear she could be heading to become her country’s first Alpha Queen.
Another Asian delegate is also making waves in the competition. #Thailand’s Nicolene Limsnukan has done everything to be her country’s first Miss World titleholder: Top5 in Designer Award, Top 10 in Head to Head Challenge and Top32 in Top Model Categories. Thailand is looking for its best finish since 1997.
#Venezuela’s Veruska Ljubisavljevic is also poised to bring her country back from oblivion in Miss World. Her candidacy is the most dramatic story out of the 100 candidates for she almost did not make it due to legal problems with her national organization. But when she set foot in China, she really meant business. Her defining moment came when she spoke her heart out about her country’s economic situation during the Head to Head Challenge. Miss Julia Morley loves girls who are very down to earth and sincere so we are definitely putting her in our top list.
We are also not discounting #China or the #Philippines to make it Big tomorrow night.we are so impressed with Perry Mao’s showmanship in the pageant. Tall and articulate, she also has the makings of being strong contender. What makes her bid growing stronger day by day is that when the pageant is being held in China, China does well. On the other hand, it may have been a long road of frustration for Philippines’ Katarina Rodriguez but we are also confident of her chances for tomorrow’s finale. She is very beautiful and articulate as well. Katarina has worked so hard to where she is at the moment so any impending technicality she feels will not ruin her chances for tomorrow. It aint over till its over.
Meanwhile, check out the other ladies who made it to our final leaderboard.

German lady round-the-world cyclist in Hong Kong 一個德國女子單車遊世界--香港
Dorothee Fleck is on her second cycle ride around the world, and has already pedalled across 20 countries to reach Hong Kong. When she arrived at the Lo Wu border earlier this week, with her heavily laden bicycle, she was amazed to be asked to remove one of its wheels before entering Hong Kong. “How can I move such a heavy load with one wheel off?” she asked MTR staff, echoing concerns among local cyclists about MTRC restrictions.
Dorothee Fleck
Today, Thursday, is her last day in Hong Kong before continuing her journey, cycling across the Philippines, Indonesia and then crossing Australia.
She will be at Tai Wo Station today, 3.00pm, to talk about her incredible journey, and her experience of cycling around Hong Kong, which she describes as “perhaps the least bike-friendly place I have visited on my travels.”
Trying to reach Immigration Tower from Wanchai, she found that none of the roads crossing Gloucester Road allowed bicycles. On a visit to Sai Kung, riding along Sai Sha Road, she was shocked to see many signs warning that cycling is prohibited on Sundays and holidays. A similar road in Columbia, which she visited on a previous trip, banned motor vehicles at weekends, to encourage cycling.
