If you are 40+ like me and you’re gym addicted.
It’s time to slow down and train less.
You need to TRAIN SMARTER!
If your goal is Body Composition (Maintain the strength and muscle mass and low body fat%), you don’t need to train every single day.
You should consider to increase NEAT (activity outside the gym).
During weekday, you can keep 12,000 steps a day. On weekend, you can achieve 20,000 steps a day.
Don’t use weight training to BURN more calories.
The purpose of weight training is to stimulate muscle protein synthesis (MPS). If you overdo it and your body can not recover from the training, your body will become catabolic. This is NOT what we want.
At my age, how to manage my stress level outside the gym is a vital element to transform your body composition.
However, if you are under train (less than 3 sessions a week), please increase training frequency and follow the nutrition plan.

Set habits. Say prayers. Work Hard. .
I want to add aiming for big goals is great but can sometimes be daunting, it works for some, sure. Perhaps then look at our habits in order to attain our goals. What is the habit you want revise/reset for yourself so you can attain your goal? .
Why I say habits. Cause you are made up of the sum of the small decisions you make in your daily life and that comes down to your habits. You want to get healthier, then start eating wiser, training smarter. You want to be more productive, spend less time scrolling on social media (that's a truth, no?). .
So perhaps re-evaluate habits 😉
