The Revelation of the Secret Place
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” (Psalms 91:1 WEB)
The secret place of the Most High is a person.
It is being “in Christ”.
Jesus is the strong tower that the righteous run to.
This tower stretches high into Heaven.
We believers are the living stones that make up this tower.
Piece by piece, the tower is built up into a holy temple for God.
Under the Law, the temple is where the gold, silver, and tithes are stored.
The holiest items in Israel were stored in the temple.
Today we have the true substance of what was just symbolic in the Law.
God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Heaven in Christ Jesus.
Every good thing, including God’s most precious treasures and gifts, are found in Christ.
You are in the best position you can possibly be in.
Be seated on Jesus’ throne and reign with the same power and authority as Him.
As a member of His body, your identity is inseparable from Him.
If anyone touches the hand of Christ, he has touched Christ.
Christ is in you through His Spirit.
You in Him, and Him in you, and Jesus is in the Father.
God and you have become one.
No wonder the Father says, “Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours.”
Every promise in Psalm 91 hinges on you being in the secret place of the Most High.
If Jesus is your Lord, you are already there!

【我不喜歡恐怖片,不過....】
我不喜歡恐怖片,像驅魔鬧鬼的那些,為嚇而嚇無乜謂,貼錢買難受。不過,其實都有些喜歡,覺得值得睇嘅,例如記得近年《返校》(台灣)、《His House》(英國),有故事有內涵,配合得好,咁又唔同。
今次介紹近期睇過四部。先講剛上畫嘅《Candyman》,不過建議先上 Netflix 重溫1992年嘅同名原作,本片喺近三十年後係「致敬」式嘅續集,原作三名主角都會親身登場或聲音客串。一如當年, Candyman 嘅概念圍繞黑人貧民屋邨殺人魔嘅傳說,話說有個專派糖果俾小朋友嘅神秘人,傳說糖入面暗藏刀片,更嚇人嘅係,只要有人面對鏡子重複講五次他的名字,就會出現殺人。
1992年原作雖然以白人女主角(Virginia Madsen)以大學研究生身分研究這個黑人之間的傳說,手法仍不流於典型的歧視或exploitation,甚至輕輕地暗示種族歧視的社會不公現實,加上色彩和影像的運用,和 Philip Glass 的音樂,令電影不靠黑暗驚嚇,反而突出主角的心理變化,所以被評為上世紀90年代最出色恐怖電影之一。
到了2021,續集落在 Jorden Peele 手上,此子之前兩部《Get Out》(神作!)同《Us》,已證明他的能力和地位,有幾多人第一部執導電影已經提名奧斯卡最佳電影同導演(仲係恐怖片!),贏埋最佳劇本,並且係黑人電影?今次 Peele 只係編劇同監製,交由另一位明日之星新進女黑人導演 Nia DeCosta 執導(她即將執導MCU電影 The Marvels,成為最年輕嘅MCU導演)。
幾場殺人場景完全不會令人失望,但最重要的,是背後的美國這一代年輕上位中黑人面對的各種社會問題及深層次矛盾,表面上他們做了中產,上了私樓,打入了令人羨慕的「上等人」生活圈子,但卻繼續面對gentrification(舊區重建「領展」化、貧民區變豪宅)的後果,種族歧視的換湯不換藥,和更複雜的「黑人為了迎合主流白人社會想見的黑人文化而跟隨市場『創作』這些內容」,片中主角的畫家和藝術家的掙扎,一如 Peele 和導演等自己本身,他們的黑人電影多少只是白人主流市場想看的商品?
第二部《Old》,是 M. Night Shyamalan 嘅新作,他1999年 Bruce Willis 主演嘅《The Sixth Sense》大家一定睇過,是驚慄片「扭橋」經典,其他作品像誇越二十年的《Unbreakable》+《Split》+《Glass》三部曲,以至《Signs》、《The Village》(我最喜歡,但卻是他電影中評價較低的,不解)、《The Happening》等等,不過,只怪《The Sixth Sense》太經典,廿多年來他都不能突破自己。
今次《Old》,睇完trailer,其實已經知道故事基本舖排(所以以下不算劇透吧),就是在一個沙灘上所有人身體快速老化,入場唯一是想解答「為什麼」,其他片中各人點死都無分別不大,因都是意料中事,算是 M. Night 電影中較令人失望的,而最後一個解釋亦來得粗枝大葉,有點反高潮。
2017年 Jorden Peel 的《Get Out》,初看甚有 M. Night 的影子。不知 M. Night 能否再創高峰,但也希望 Peel 可以 keep up。
第三部《A Quiet Place Part II》,又係續集,之前一部真係唔錯,外星怪物只憑聽覺襲擊人類,所以人要生存就要不發一聲,上集 Emily Blunt 拍住佢真實老公/導演/演員 John Krasinski,驚嚇和氣氛都十分好,不過續集實在無新意,勉強可以話把打怪物主線交俾teenage女兒角色,算係稱職嘅續集,不過真係無新意。(上集評:[1] )
第四部係 Netflix 嘅《Blood Red Sky》,卻值得睇!是德國電影,母親為了媽媽醫病與小兒子搭飛機去美國,遇上劫機,為救她的兒子,(電影宣傳係咁形容)母親被迫「洩露一個駭人的秘密) "unleash a monstrous secret",不劇透了,自己看!劫機,和這個「秘密」的「橋」,大家一定睇過,不過,本片execute好,十分緊湊,雖有些小瑕疵可以改善,不過對這類型電影加上相對小本製作來說,已經做得很好,是意外驚喜!
OK,我都睇恐怖片嘅,進化咗,唔好齋嚇人。

Hello friends! Today we're going to share with you how to make juicy oven-baked smoked BBQ ribs at home.
Copying and practicing a recipe from a famous restaurant is the most challenging thing, but it is very interesting and we learn new things from it. In this video, we copied the taste of the famous pepper ribs, but made some modifications, because some ingredients are not found in this city. Chili’s slow-cooked pork ribs has been a top seller on the menu since 1986 and is still the best seller today. So this is a must try.
To make smoked flavor BBQ ribs without a smoker, we slow cook in the oven, and make the Chili's BBQ sauce with smokey chipotle in adobo, or it can be made by liquid smoke instead. The flavor is found in the sauce, and the cooking secret is slow-braising which can keep the meat juicy and tender like the original. You can use the barbecue sauce suggested in the recipe below or use your favorite homemade or store-bought sauce. Hope you like it. Enjoy. :)

How to make Oven-Baked Smoked BBQ Ribs
✎ Ingredients
pork ribs 950g
☞ for dry marinades
coarse salt 70g
black pepper 15g
ground white pepper 4g
cayenne pepper 2g
granulated sugar 3.5g
garlic powder 1.5g
onion powder 1.5g
☞ for BBQ sauce
chipotle peppers in adobo 7g
regular soy sauce 32g
tomato paste 70g
ketchup 20g
chicken broth 30g
apple cider vinegar 35g
dark beer 45g
fresh orange juice 87g
minced garlic 10g
chili powder 1.5g
onion powder 5g
salt 3g
black pepper 2.5g
light brown sugar 130g
1. Combine together coarse salt, black pepper, ground white pepper, cayenne pepper, granulated sugar, garlic powder and onion powder, mix well.
2. Line a baking tray with foil or parchment paper.
3. Place the ribs on the baking tray, pat dry the ribs with paper towels on both sides.
4. Using a sharp knife to take off excess fat. Just keep a little fat.
5. Remove the silver skins or whitish dense skin on the bone side of the ribs.
6. Then turn the meatier side facing up, generously season with 1 tablespoon of dry marinades.
7. Cover with another foil, shiny side out.
8. Preheat the oven to 135C, bake for 2.5~3 hours.
9. While the ribs bake, make the barbecue sauce. Add all the sauce ingredients together, using an immersion blender to blend the ingredients until smooth. Pour into a saucepan and cook over medium-low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring often until thicker.
10. Once baked, remove foil and transfer to a new baking tray and brush ribs with the barbecue sauce on both sides. Let the bone side facing up.
11. Preheat the oven to 220C, bake for 5 minutes, then turn the meatier side facing up and brush a little bit of sauce and bake for 10 minutes or until ribs have been caramelized.
12. Transfer the ribs to a plate or a cutting board, brush with sauce again if needed and serve.

Frites are the most famous and popular snack in the world, but are far more than just a snack in Belgium, it’s a national Belgian symbol. Even Though people called it “French fries”. But believe it or not, these golden brown and crispy fries might be a Belgian creation.
In this video, we are going to tell you the secret to making the perfect Belgian fries. There is no fancy skill to make these crispy fries, the only tip is double-fried. So easy, right? By the way, once the fries are ready to golden perfection, don’t forget to try the most classic sauce with it. We strongly recommend sauce andalouse, which is a mix of peppers, mayonnaise, tomato paste, also the most famous topping with fries in Belgium. Let’s get started.

How to make Belgian Fries and Sauce Andalouse
📍 Ingredients
☞ For fries
large potato 1, about 260~280g
salt 1g
sunflower oil or any deep-frying oil
☞ For Sauce andalouse
mayonnaise 125g
salt 0.8g (about ⅛ tbs)
tomato paste 14g (about 1 tbs)
onion 9g (about 1tbs)
red pepper 9g (about 1tbs)
green pepper 9g (about 1tbs)
fresh lemon juice 4g (about ½ tbs)
📍 Instructions
☞ For Sauce Andalouse
1. Chop red pepper, green pepper and onion finely.
2. In a medium bowl with mayonnaise, add the tomato paste, black pepper, salt, chili powder, finely chopped onion, red pepper, green pepper and lemon juice, then mix all the ingredients together. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge for at least one hour.
☞ For fries
3. Brush and rinse potatoes under cool water, then peel the skin and dry it in a clean dish towel.
4. Cut the potatoes into discs in 1cm thickness, then cut the discs into fries into 1cm squares.
5. Wash them in cold water two or three times until the water just becomes clear.
6. Dry them with a towel or kitchen paper until they are completely dry.
7. Pour the oil in a deep fryer and when the temperature reaches 150°C, fry the potatoes for 3 minutes.
8. Take the fries out of the fryer and transfer them into a baking tray which is lined with kitchen paper. Let the kitchen paper absorb the excess oil. Let the fries cool down for about 20 minutes.
9. Reheat the fryer to reach 190°C, and fry the fries for 2-3 minutes or until they are crispy and golden.
10. Take them out of the oil. Sprinkle it with salt. Serve with Sauce Andalouse.
