跨國攜手抗疫！廖俊智院長10日與土耳其國家科學技術研究委員會(TÜBİTAK)曼達爾(Hasan Mandal)主席、Feza KORKUSUZ副主席，以及10多位土耳其學研單位代表，透過視訊會議洽談新冠肺炎的防疫研究。這是繼美國、歐盟、捷克、加拿大之後，本院與國際合擊再添一例！
廖院長表示，此次會議是一場科學性的討論，雙方就疫苗研發、快篩試劑、藥物開發、動物模式等面向，廣泛交換意見。
本院研究人員陳建璋、楊安綏、陶秘華、林宜玲、陳榮傑等人，也與土耳其學研單位代表分享目前針對COVID-19 的研究內容，不僅互動熱絡，也樂見未來有進一步的合作。
現場與會人員還包括外交部亞非司，駐土耳其代表處鄭泰祥代表亦以視訊參與本次會議。

💥Spanning the globe in the fight against COVID-19!💥
On April 10, Academia Sinica President James Liao held a video conference with Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) President Hasan Mandal and Vice President Feza Korkusuz, as well as ten representatives from research institutes in Turkey, to discuss collaborative efforts in COVID-19 epidemic prevention. Following earlier collaboration with representatives from the U.S., Canada, the EU, and the Czech Republic, this meeting represents another milestone in AS’s mission of joining international forces in the fight against this disease.
President James Liao stated that in the course of scientific discussions views were exchanged on a number of key issues, including research and development of vaccines and medicines, rapid testing, animal models, etc.
In addition, AS faculty shared recent results in COVID-19 research with their Turkey counterparts, who expressed great enthusiasm as well as eagerness for future collaboration.
