Today is Makha Bucha Day 🙏🏻
The history of Makha Bucha is considered an important day of Buddhism. Due to an important event that occurred more than 2,500 years ago, the Lord Buddha Kotama delivered a speech in the midst of the Great Confederation of Buddhism.

Formerly there was no worshiping ceremony in Theravada Buddhism. Until the reign of King Mongkut (Rama 4), he preached the events of the Lord Buddha on the full moon day of the 3rd month because it is a very important day. Buddhist rituals should be performed in order to be a place of faithful worship. Therefore, there is merit in the management of Makha Bucha. The ritual may be similar to Visakha Puja Day, which is a various charitable practices and lighting candles according to the Buddhist traditions in the temple. Of the Emerald Buddha and various temples The ceremony was not yet widespread. Later, the popularity of the Makha Bucha ceremony spread throughout the kingdom.

Today, Makha Bucha Day is declared a public holiday in Thailand. Both Buddhists and royalty and people perform ceremonies such as making merit, giving alms and listening to the sermon, lighting candles, paying respect to the Triple Gem and an important event that is regarded as the day when the Lord Buddha creates a miracle which describes the doctrine. The heart of Buddhism is not to do all evil to do good and increase thought. To be a practice guideline for all Buddhists

ネイティブが「〜など」や「〜とか」と言うときの定番フレーズ

「〜など」を英語で表現する際、皆さんはどのように表現していますか？個人的な感想としては、日本の方は「and so on」や「and so forth」をよく使う傾向があるように感じます。もちろん間違いではないのですが、ネイティブの日常会話、特に家族や友達との会話におていは、よりカジュアルな響のある別の言い方がよく使われているのでご紹介したいと思います。

1) …and things like that
→「〜など」

特定の話題を話している際、既に述べたことに関連する別の例などを説明するとき、日本語では「他にも〜など」や「〜のような」と言いますが、この表現はそれに相当します。「…and so on」や「…and so forth」も意味は同じですが、よりフォーマルな言い方であり、「…and things like that」の方が口語的です。
例えば、「髪コップや紙皿などがいる」は「We need paper cups, paper plates and things like that.」と言うことができます。重要なポイントは「同じ類いのものだけに限る」ということです。もし「We need paper cups, shampoo and things like that（紙皿やシャンプーなどがいります）」と言うと、関連性がないことから、聞き手にとってもどういうものが欲しいのか分からず混乱してしまうでしょう。会話の場合は、そこまでルールを厳密に守る必要はないですが、聞き手が推測できることを意識して使いましょう。
　
✔︎「…and stuff like that」も同じ意味として会話ではよく使われる。
　
＜例文＞
　
I like to go running, hiking, surfing and things like that.
（私はランニングやハイキング、サーフィンなどをするのが好きです。）
　
We visited temples, castles and things like that. We did all the touristy stuff.
（私たちはお寺やお城など、いわゆる観光地に行きました。）
　
She’s worried about getting married, having kids and things like that.
（彼女は結婚や出産などについて心配しています。）

2) Blah blah blah
→「〜とか / 〜って具合に / などなど」

会話をしている時に、全て説明するのが面倒だったり無意味であると思ったときに、重要ではない部分をはしょるときに使われるスラングです。一般的に、誰かが言った発言を復唱して説明する際によく使われます。例えば、「リサは、お金や仕事、彼氏のことなどの愚痴をこぼしていました。」は「Lisa was complaining about money, her job, her boyfriend and blah blah blah.」という具合に使います。
　
✔︎「yada yada yada」も同じ意味。
　
＜例文＞
　
Mike kept talking about his car. He told me how much it was, where he got it, and blah blah blah.
（マイクはずっと自分の車の話していました。いくらだっただの、どこで買っただのって具合に。。。）
　
He’s upset because his students are always late, they don’t do their homework and blah blah blah.
（生徒がいつも遅刻するとか、宿題をしないしとかで、彼は腹を立てています。）
　
Tony was bragging about his new job, how well it pays and blah blah blah.
（トニーがな、自分の新しい仕事は給料がいいだの何だのってしょーもない自慢をしとったわ。）

3) Etc. (et cetera)
→「などなど」

“etc”が「〜など」を意味するということはご存知の方も多いかと思いますが、これは“Et cetera”の略語で非常にフォーマルな表現の仕方になります。稀に会話の中で「et cetera（エトセトラ）」と言う人もいますが、基本的には文章を書く際に「etc」を用いて表現します。“etc”は「and things like that」や「and so on」とは異なり“and”は不要です。例えば、「I ate sushi, ramen, soba, etc.（寿司、ラーメン、そばなどを食べました）」のようになります。
　
＜例文＞
　
That store sells pots, pans, skillets, etc.
（あの店は鍋やフライパン、スキレットなど売っています。）
　
He’s lived in Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, etc.
（彼はタイやフィリピン、ベトナムなどに住んでいました。）
　
Milk, cheese, yogurt, etc. I can’t eat any dairy products.
（牛乳、チーズ、ヨーグルトなどの乳製品は一切食べられません。）

ปกติแล้วถ้าพูดถึงปทุมธานี หลายคนก็คงจะไปรังสิตกันบ่อยกว่าที่จะเข้าเมืองปทุม หรือไปอำเภออื่นๆ วันนี้เราและพ่อแม่ ขับรถเที่ยว ไปไหว้พระและหาของอร่อยกัน ที่ตัวเมืองปทุม เดินตลาด ได้ให้อาหารปลาวัดหงษ์ กินก๋วยเตี๋ยวเรือ และดูเจดีย์หอยด้วยล่ะ จากกทม.ไปถึงชั่วโมงใกล้มากเลยล่ะ ปะ ไปเที่ยวกันเลยยยย
バンコクから一時間ืの「パトゥムターニー県」今回は親と一緒に父さんの出家したお寺、ボートヌードルを食べて、カキの貝殻で造られたパゴダを見たりしました。さあ、一緒にタイでドライブに出かけよう！
