PC Gamer รายงานจากประกาศแถลงการณ์โดย Team Aster หรือทีมอีสปอร์ตจากจีน เผยว่าโปรเพลเยอร์จำนวน 3 คนนามว่า Du "Monet" Peng, Lin "Xxs" Jing และ Ye "BoBoKa" Zhibiao รวมถึงโค้ช Cheng "Mad" Han และพนักงานคนอื่น ๆ ในทีม ได้ติดเชื้อไวรัส COVID-19 ก่อนเริ่มการแข่งขันเกม DotA 2 สุดยิ่งใหญ่อย่าง The International 10 ใน 1 สัปดาห์

Team Aster แถลงการณ์ว่าพวกเขาอาศัยพักอยู่ที่โรงแรมเดียวกันกับทีมจากจีนอีกสี่ทีม ที่เข้าร่วมการแข่งขัน The International 10 ซึ่งสมาชิกในทีมหลายคนยังไม่มีการแสดงอาการป่วย และกำลังรอผลการตรวจสอบโรค

ทีมงานเผยว่าโปรเพลเยอร์ที่ติดเชื้อไวรัส COVID-19 นั้น "ไม่มีการแสดงอาการ หรือมีอาการป่วยเพียงเล็กน้อย" และขณะนี้ ทีมงานหลายคนได้กักตัวเองในห้องพัก แล้วมีการประสานงานไปถึงผู้จัดทัวร์นาเมนต์ The International เพื่อหารือเกี่ยวกับขั้นตอนต่อไปแล้ว

ก่อนหน้านี้ PGL หนึ่งในบริษัทผู้จัดการแข่งขัน The International 10 ได้ประกาศมาตรการป้องกันว่าผู้ร่วมการแข่งขันและผู้ชมทุกคน ต้องมีเอกสารยืนยันว่าได้รับการฉีดวัคซีนป้องกันโรค COVID-19 เพื่อเข้าร่วมงานดังกล่าว แล้วสถานการณ์ของ The International 10 จะเป็นอย่างไร ก็ต้องติดตามอัปเดตกันต่อไป
