【玳瑚師父出差錄】 《災難中的助力》
A Helping Hand In Times of Adversity (English version below)
今天下午，吾根本上師，蓮生活佛，在臺灣主持「南無妙色身如來護摩超度大法會」。吾未能親臨會場，但已在昨天為尼泊爾地震的罹難者報名做這場法會的主祈者。
大家對「本師釋迦摩尼佛」、「阿彌陀佛」、「藥師琉璃光如來」略有印象，但應該沒聼過「妙色身如來」，也對祂的功德利益不熟悉。
「妙色身如來」到底是怎麼樣的一尊佛？「妙色身如來」是七如來之一。死于災難的人，往往都是肢體不全。這時候，需要請「妙色身如來」放七寶光加持眾殘靈。祂其中一個作用就是能夠幫支離破碎的靈魂一一縫合，三魂七魄組合在一起，成為妙色身，如天人一樣的莊嚴，清淨了，就可以往生佛國淨土了。如果再輪迴，也不會是四肢不全的身軀，反而相貌莊嚴, 令人讚嘆歡喜。
今天下午，吾帶領同修，和有緣有福有慧者，一起唸佛持咒，回向給尼泊爾地震的罹難者。吾也為今日的出席者們鼓掌。今日妳你從災難中救了別人，他日妳你有災難時，也會有人把妳你救出來，這是一種因果循環。所以幫助別人也就是在幫助自己，請不要拒絕行善。

普賢菩薩警世偈：「是日已過，命亦隨減。如少水魚，斯有何樂。」人本來就應該有貢獻。與其在這個周末吃喝玩樂，有緣相聚，倒不如一起來積功德，利樂有情，消業障吧！

This afternoon, my Root Guru Master, Living Buddha Lian Sheng, presided over Surupakaya Tathagata Deliverance Homa Ceremony in Taiwan. I am unable to attend this puja ceremony, hence, yesterday, on behalf of the casualties of the Nepal earthquake, I had submitted the registration to be the main supplicant for this puja ceremony.
I believe everyone should be somewhat familiar with Shakyamuni Buddha, Amitabha Buddha and the Medicine Buddha but may not have heard of the Surupakaya Tathagata, nor hear of His merits and virtues.
Exactly who is the Surupakaya Buddha? This Buddha is one of the Seven Tathagatas. Those who perished in disasters often had their bodies broken. At this time, there is a need to pray to Surupakaya Buddha and beseech Him to shine His Light of Seven Treasures onto these fragmented spirits. He possesses the power to stitch the broken bodies back into one, putting back together their 3 spiritual and 7 physical souls, transforming them into pure and regal-looking heavenly beings, hence, facilitating their rebirth in the Pure Land. If they are to go through reincarnation again, they would be blessed with a complete body and regal appearance , that will draw praises and affection, in their rebirths.
I led a prayer session this afternoon, with a group of participants who have the affinity, wisdom and fortune, to recite the Buddha's name and chant the mantras and dedicate all merits to the victims of the Nepal earthquake. I applauded all the attendees of today's session. Today you save a person from a disaster. In the future to come, someone will surely come to your aid when adversity strikes. This is what I call "Things come in a full circle", a testament to the law of karma. When we are helping others, we are, in fact, helping ourselves. So never say no to a good deed.

A cautionary verse from the Samantabhadra Bodhisattva reads, "As the day passes, your life diminishes. Just like the fish in a pond rapidly losing water, what joy is there?"
As human beings, we should all be contributing for the betterment of others. Rather than spending this weekend indulging in merry making, let us make use of this affinity to accumulate merits, do good for those in need and eradicate negative karma together!
