**梅雨，指由冷熱空氣交鋒而成之鋒面雨，在每年春夏交際時於臺灣、日本中南部、韓國南部，以及中國長江中下游地區、四川盆地東部和江淮地區等地形成的持續天陰有雨之自然氣候現象。由於梅雨發生的時段正是江南梅子的成熟期，並且由於長期下雨，導致衣物、食品等容易發霉，因此梅雨又有一個別名：「霉雨」。台灣過去並無「梅雨」一詞，而是自國民政府遷台後所帶來，雖然時間上較早，又與梅子成熟期不完全吻合，但其成因及降雨特性卻與長江梅雨、日本梅雨都相似，所以也採用「梅雨」這個名稱。
