One year ago today this absolutely magical group of people gathered in a rehearsal studio @nycitycenter to rehearse LOVE LIFE by Kurt Weill and Alan Jay Lerner. We had just been told that Broadway was shutting down and all of New York theater would go dark due to the dangers of CoVid19. Even though we knew that our show would not be proceeding with our tech, sitz probe, or performances, we ran through the show anyway. To see what we had made. To support each other. To celebrate this show and its creators. To laugh -to cry -to be together. We had no way to know that a year later we would still be apart, still without live theater in New York and many other places in the world. I will never forget this afternoon- it was an astonishing life-affirming performance. It has fed me for a full year. I can’t wait to be reunited with these artists to continue our work !
