古代有一農夫，秋收時誤把一袋高粱倒入水缸，數日後缸內飄出異香，農夫很驚詫。
夜裡，一位仙人入夢來告訴農夫，水缸裡要有三滴鮮血才能飲用，而且這三滴鮮血要分別來自三個不同的人。
隔天一早，農夫在大街上找到一位風度翩翩的書生，農夫說明所求之事，書生慨然應允，滴了第一滴血。
時近中午農夫又再找到一位武將，也滴了一滴血。
眼看太陽要下山了，路上都沒人了。直到酉時(17-19時)，好不容易過來一個瘋子，農夫無奈之下，只好讓瘋子滴了第三滴血。
此時，缸內突然飄出奇異的香氣，嚐之醇香溢口，清涼甘冽，嘆為人間美味！
因為是在酉時完成的，農夫乃在缸上寫了個酉字，並在旁邊點了三個點，意思是那三個人的三滴血，所以從那時開始有了「酒」字。
時至今日，喝酒之人，一開始文質彬彬，是在享受那個書生的氣質。
喝到中途，意氣風發，鬥志昂揚，表現的是武將的風範。
ㄧ直喝到最後，變得語無倫次，瘋瘋癲癇，就是因為那個瘋子的血作怪的！
哈哈哈！現在知道為什麼喝酒會發酒瘋了吧！
Long time ago, a farmer accidentally poured a bag of Gaoliang into a water tank. One night, spirits came into his dream and told him the tank needs 3 drops of blood given by 3 different people in order to drink it.
The farmer found a scholar, a warrior, and a madman on the street and told them about the dream. Three of them each gave a drop of their blood into the tank.
Suddenly, a mystic aroma filled the tank, it tastes bittersweet and ever so refreshing — A taste of heaven!
Since the tank was completed at 酉 time (17:00-19:00), the farmer added three strokes next to it to indicate the 3 drops of blood. This is the birth of the character 酒 (alchohol).
Till this day, people who drink “alchohol” start off as a gentleman, enjoying the scholor’s temperament. Half way through, the fighting spirit arise, experiencing the warrior’s character. In the very end, languistic skills are lost, acting like a madman.
Well, let’s blame that last part on the madman’s blood.
